Honestly this is the one time I get Ainge.

However all his bs over the years will make people come out real hard at him.

He would given Jaylen fricken Brown for Kawhi last year and god knows what else.

He deserves all the criticism and the Celtics will be a treadmill team going forward.

Ainge did nothing with all the assets they have had over they years. What a shame.

If true that is a pretty stupid move but I don't believe it. Tatum, as he has shown in the last playoffs, is nothing special. Ainge would have traded him and additional assets for AD in a heart beat. I think the Pelicans just liked the Lakers offer more. The other thing is Ainge just didn't want to deal with Rich Paul anymore as he shown himself to be a scummy person.

Masai is who people pretend Ainge is.

(I actually agree with the move here. Celtics weren't doing anything next season either way. Throwing away the future to be slightly less mediocre for a year would be dumb).

So...accumulating all these assets...nothing to really show for.

Congratulations.

Tatum is one of the most overrated prospects we've seen in the last couple of years. Nice job Ainge, you blew it again

Westbrook/George, Wall/Beal, Dame/CJ .. these are all combinations that are just not good enough to push their team to a championship level. And I don't think Brown/Tatum are rated to be better than any of them. More importantly, eventually, they are not going to attractive trade assets as they will get paid.

The championship and this move just confirms Masai as best GM in the NBA.

Problem is he wants to rip everyone off like Billy King.

There was only 1 Billy King. Well Coangelo was close.

why would he give up someone like that when davis wasn't even going to re-sign? He'd look mighty stupid having nothing next year

Or maybe Ainge and the Celtics would have a championship to show for it next year.

This guy is a clown...

He is more worried about ripping the other GM than building a contender.

delicious irony Nyets are gonna sign the one guy Ainge traded assets for (Kyrie) and maybe be in a better spot than the celts. Despite he celts taking all their picks.

Plus, Tatum ain't THAT good. Real talk.

He regressed first to second year. It’s a horrible sign.

He has a low floor because he is already good... but I have serious doubts as to his long term potential when he doesn’t improve year 1 to 2.

It shouldn’t of even been a question to include him for AD.

He's still a kid man...

exactly. still only 19. he’ll improve

Even if Tatum is top 10-15 level player (which is a tall task), that is prime Jimmy Butler level. They still don't have a #1 option to a championship and they have no plan (other than hope and pray) to get one.

With no commitment from Kyrie, I wouldve done the same.
