Umm, Kemba is a very good shooter. Have you not watched him play since 2015?

I'm not celebrating this, but...a team that missed the playoffs trading assets for an MVP-caliber player is pretty different than a 73-win team signing an MVP-caliber player without losing any major talent.

The KD we all knew is officially gone. He'll come back in 2021 as a shell of his former self. The achilles tear on a guy who utilizes mobility the way KD does is a death sentences in this game unfortunately.

KD will re-sign and return as an Allstar but not MVP. He'll drop 23-24 ppg as dirk double.

Trades aren't the same thing as a FA signing. I think most people give KD **** for what he did rather than the Warriors anyway.

Pretty much. I can see him coming back as a good 2nd option and a great 3rd option.

Not targeting you specifically just in general the same people complaining about 3 top players together are wanting AD lebron and Kemba together or butler. The 73 wins is meaningless considering everyone always feels the regular season is pointless 73 dont mean a thing without a ring.

KD max is 35% cap, they're ~6mn short
Kawhi max is 30% cap, they're just short

And that's if AD waves his kicker

So the most accurate topic is

"If AD waives his trade kicker, Lakers still almost have a max slot, don't bother watching NBA next season"

Thanks for the championship Kawhi! Glad we won this year instead of facing this super team in LA LOOL!!!

you really think Kawhi is the type to join a superteam? I don't think so.

He'd get the keys to the franchise however and Lebron is only going to be around for two more years.

Also someone is going to have to face that monster in Philly that's coming (a year more together and that core could come in and win 70 games next year).

Lebron and AD is enough to win especially with GSW potentially being out of the picture next year

AD doesn't have to waive his trade kicker if the trade takes place after free agency, he can get his 4.1 mil bonus with the lakers

I think Sixers will get weaker, one of Butler or Tobias will be leaving.....Butler to Lakers is a possibility if they give him the right contract.

Well at least their isn't any kids left on our roster for Butler to bully  I think with Kawhi on the table however, we must make him our priority and we must give him whatever he wants (and i mean anything he wants). Even with Lebron here, Kawhi Leonard would be our franchise player and for him, he won't have to front the media since Lebron will still do the media stuff. its a win-win for him.

What free agents are out there that would take the near-max, fit with Lebron and AD, and be ok with being a clear 3rd option?

Don't think that's Kemba or Butler.

Maybe Vucevic?

LeBron, AD, Kuzma and an third star is great, but I don't see it as the league might as well just crown them. They'll still be paper thin outside of the stars.

I find it hard to believe AD will forfeit $4M for no reason lol. Unless there is a perfect fit of a player ready to sign or something. But still

True

"Lakers are just short of a max slot regardless of AD waiving kicker"

Kembas a poor fit for that team; it would be a shame to see him go there. He would just sit in the corner and shoot 3s.

They don’t have the money to sign him or any other star, for that matter. OP is wrong.

... I'm sure 35yo Lebron will be eager to wait around and see his window depend on Durant's return from a complete Achilles tear 1y from now.

And I'm sure Kawhi wants to play out-of-position with an old Lebron, Kuzma and Davis. He's clearly comfortable with hyper athletic switch-capable bigs like Ibaka, Siakam and Gasol. He's gonna get tired really fast of Lebron's matador mid-30s defense and whatever rag-tag of vet. min. scroungers they have trying to hustle.

Jimmy, Kemba or Kyrie. Neither of those trios scare anybody.

they have 27.7 mil available after the trade, not quite. Kawhi max is 32+, KD max is 37+
