Re: Where do the Celtics go from here?
I still like the Celtics core...Tatum and Brown will continue to get better and they'll still be able to hang with the top 3 Eastern teams (Raps, Bucks, Sixers).

Re: Where do the Celtics go from here?
they probably should package these three picks to get Ja or something. or get a player on a longterm contract.
but yea the beauty of draft picks is before the order is made. their value is immediately gone after you know the selection and the likely player you'll pick.

Kyrie isn’t gone yet. There’s still a really good chance he takes the extra money. Ainge needs to start stroking him hard
- first main step is to kill the draft.
- start looking at Jaylen brown trades

No one is giving up anything for that bumlevon wrote:Hope Hayward comes back then trade him for more assets. Youth movement. Figure out the real values of Brown and Tatum, not their inflated league-wide values, and potentially maneuver them as well. Keep building. They're not at all in a bad position if you consider what they have today. The opportunity cost paints them in a bad light though.

I look forward to actually watching a cohesive team next season. He didn't want to give up our best asset for a one year rental, no issue from me

I for one am happy as hell they didn't trade Tatum plus others for a one year rental. is it me, or was this obvious? How could A. Davis be any more clear, he was signing with LA the following year. makes we wonder why LA made the deal at all. anyway. captain Obvious out.

Errrr, they're in a position now where they're going to be forced to pay Rozier 15 million+ per year and good knows what they'll need to pay Brown after this season. The Bill is about to come due. They better draft smart this year and hope Memphis stays trash.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

I don't know about that. Surely the Celtics won't compete for the title but the current Knicks team is a G-League team when they have Kadeem Allen getting minutes.

Re: Where do the Celtics go from here?
I think the real reason Ainge is a loser is his excuse for not jumping on PG13, Kawhi and Butler was because he had "grander" plans to obtain AD. I recall quite a few celtics fans posting that Ainge was planning years in advance and it was ok that he kept missing on top 5 players b/c he coveted the biggest of the top 5.
Welp, now we know it was all bull****. Ainge could have landed PG13 and likely made a finals or won it all. He could have landed Kawhi and definitely won it all. Instead he has Tatum and Brown. Brown's trade value takes a huge dive after he signs a contract extension next year. Tatum had one of the biggest sophomore slumps in recent memory and actually looked like a different player raising concerns about what his ceiling is.
No matter how you cut it, Ainge is a coward when it comes to trades. He'll only pull the trigger where he knows with certainty he got the better end of the deal. While that's great for score cards it also cost the Celtics some stud players.

Oh boy, I love how dramatic and reactionary RealGM is. Celtics will be just fine.
Everybody loves ripping the Celtics though, so I get it. Pile on, pile on..

Re: Where do the Celtics go from here?
That Hayward injury was catastrophic for the Celtics. Dude went from the go-to-guy in Utah averaging something like 20 points to a freaking liability everywhere. What is next? Just keep playing with the current and hope some decent free agents want to join the Celtics. Trading Horford for assets or a younger player may not be a bad idea either.
