When the Knicks hired Fiz you think he was thinking the rebuild was going to last for more than a year or when he was quoted as saying we are going to be hated again he was optimistic

They're different. They'd actually complement each other really well. Lonzo has always thrived as a quick decision ball mover with another lead guard with him. LA was foolish (pre LeBron) to let Russell go. Him and Lonzo would have made a ton of sense together. They got stuck thinking both played the same position when really Lonzo is a ball handling wing in his best form.

So we have to use our cap space to reach the floor. Outside of kawhi coming is there any doubt now we need to sign Kd and wait and let the kids develop another year

No we dont... we could sign no one but minimum deal guys and the difference will just get paid to the players. Knicks wouldn't violate any rules doing that.

He's talked about the Sixers a lot since the beginning of the season, so I'm rather sure he knew the possibilities.

The other way hasn’t worked worked in 40 years!

There is no "right" way, otherwise, every team would follow Step 1, Step 2, Step 3 and instantly win a championship. Except, that's not how it works.

The "right" way is setting yourself up for a year like this when a rare FA class comes along and you're in the position to grab one and bring your franchise back to relevancy. Fortunately, we did that -- then the KD injury happened. Now, we just need some luck.

I support anyone who suits up in a KNICKS jersey -- but for anyone cheering DSJr, Trier, and Frank as a good thing by themselves and that somehow they alone will be a joy to watch, well, I say: :noway:

For free how? By keeping Kuzma?
They traded everything else.
Ball, Ingram, Hart, 4th pick, the rights to their next 6 1st rd picks.....
They don’t even have Zubac anymore.

Rights to the next 6 picks? Can you explain? Because they can’t trade consecutive picks?

Which is better than giving than betting one of the best players in the world recovers and is still good?

I'm upset the Knicks didn't get Davis. He works a few doors down the hall from a healthy KD or Kawhi, but is still one of the few guys in the league who even has an office on that cornerstone floor, in my opinion.

I'm excited the Knicks retain Mitch, the 3rd overall pick this year, a handful of talented but thus far middling/unimpressive infant prospects, and the Mavs unprotected 2021.

Those last 70 seconds, Randle in a nut shell.

Awful 2 for 1 3PT attempt when we are up 2
Doesn’t close out on Sabonis --> open 3
Takes another side step off balance 3

We got sucked into the Randle vortex where all good feelings go to die.

i mean, if you join durant you gotta wait a year and hope he recovers. they're the west favorite right now without even doing anything else. if you're a free agent you gotta consider them strongly.

I like Lonzo, he's an excellent playmaker, can run the fastbreak and is an above average defender. He's not a good shooter and awful at the FT line which is very concerning. His father isn't as bad as people are making him out to be, he quieted down a lot this past season.

If DSJ wasn't on this team than it would be enticing to go after Lonzo. Also Frank might play spot minutes as the backup 1 so there's no point for someone like Lonzo on this team. If he was a deadeye shooter, than I can get on board.

TBH I like the idea of pairing Frank and Lonzo together as our starting backcourt. They're both quite tall and both plus defenders. If either of them could develop a shot than that pairing would work very well together.

As far as the AD trade, the Lakers gave up 2 recent #2 pick selections, Hart who is a decent backup and a bunch of draft picks. It didn't look like any other team were willing to give up much for a potential 1 year rental of AD, so the Pels actually did quite well for themselves given the circumstances.
