Post#1 » by wackbone » Sat Jun 15, 2019 2:22 pm

Here is a quick list of what you need in your write-up.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their write-ups.

If write-ups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page.

Team DN Starters:
PG: Damian Lillard - 19.4 (2018) All-NBA(1st) / All-Star / 26.9ppg
SG: Mitch Richmond - 16.9 (1996) All-NBA / 3pt@.437 / 23.1ppg
SF: Andre Iguodala - 7.3 (2014) All-Defense(1st) / DRPM(+4.74)
PF: Kevin Garnett - 18.8 (2000) All-Defense(1st) / All-NBA(1st)
C: Al Horford - 10.5 (2018) All-Defense / All-Star / 3pt@.429%

Bench Mob:
G: Marcus Smart - 7.1 (2019) All-Defense(1st) / 3pt@.365
F: Doug Christie - 7.0 (2003) All-Defense(1st) / 3pt@.395
F: Hedo Turkoglu - 3.0 (2015) 3pt@.432 on 2.2 attempts
Total FGA’s = 90/90

Rotation (Minutes):
PG: Damian Lillard (34) / Marcus Smart (14)
SG: Mitch Richmond (34) / Marcus Smart (14)
SF: Andre Iguodala (20) / Doug Christie (28)
PF: Kevin Garnett (28) / Iggy (12) / Turkoglu (8)
C: Al Horford (36) / Kevin Garnett (12)

Defense: Five players on the All-Defensive Team. Legit rim protection in KG & Horford. Strong/active wings that can switch & protect Dame.
Hedo only plays 8 minutes as a legit vet(sniper) & would totally understand how team defensive concepts work in the NBA. No other weak links to attack... Mitch Richmond is not a defensive liability. His nickname was “Rock” because of his amazing strength & inability to be taken advantage of by bigger players via penetration or post.

Offense: A very “Terry Stotts Offense” with Mitch Richmond in the “CJ McCollum role”. Lillard is now a true proven offensive engine in the playoffs (Dame Time is real). He’ll also have a super-powered supporting-cast with the multiple defensive wings(Iggy, Smart, Christie) causing chaos, turnovers & transition causing easy buckets.

“Minnesota KG” is severely underrated offensively. He will be very hard to stop with all of the extra floor spacing & lack of other defenses having true traditional rim protection.

Overall: This is a ”defensive team”, with Multiple ball-handlers (Dame, Mitch, Iggy, Smart) & multiple ways to score the basketball(inside/out). I am confident that my team fits together very well & would overcome any other team in a 7 game series.

Match-up:
TBD

Vote could go either way.
Good luck Fade! Nice job

Rotations
C - Wallace (36), Kleber (12)
PF - Siakam (37), Kleber (6), Mbah a Moute (5)
SF - George (40), Mbah a Moute (8)
SG - Majerle (38), Ward (10)
PG - Paul (40), Ward (8)

We've got a good claim to be the best defensive team in this game, with everyone in our rotation being at least "good" in that regard. Importantly, not only can we lock down on the perimeter with CP3, PG, Majerle, Ward, and Mbah a Moute, but we've also got bigs who are actually impactful at defending the post and protecting the rim. Offensively, we have peak CP3 and PG leading the charge, with Siakam filling in the blanks as a do-it-all third option and Majerle bombing away from the openings our superstars create. Sheed fits in nicely as a fifth option to help spread the floor for drives from CP3, PG, and Siakam. With two of our lead scorers on the court at all times, our bench of Ward, Mbah a Moute, and Kleber can focus on knocking down open shots and maintaining our strong defensive identity.

Matchup
- Our team is one of the few that can match DN on the defensive end. We can throw CP3 on Dame, PG and Richmond, and Sheed on KG - all excellent covers for his primary weapons.
- Siakam's quickness makes him a good option to deal with Horford's perimeter game.
- For much of the game DN will have to use Dame as the primary defender on CP3, who is at his athletic peak here and a nightmare to stay in front of. We've got the floor well spaced at all times, so once CP3 gets past the first line he can do damage either finishing at the rim, pulling up from midrange, or kicking out to a shooter.
- Our firepower goes a little deeper with Majerle and Sheed as fourth and fifth options. Given the quality of defenders we have for DN's stars, he will often have to rely on contributions from the likes of Iguodala, Smart, and Christie, all of whom are very good players but not very consistent scorers or shooters.

Good luck DN.

Pretty much dead even, Paul is the best offensive player with a good matchup, but I really like the fit if Iguodala, KG and Horford's IQ and mobility on defense. I don't love Smart playing 28 minutes or Kleber playing 18 minutes. Overall, I just like DN's SF-PF-C on defense too much to go with the scoring backcourt and KG on offense. Vote DerrickNoah

Vote - Fade,
It’s a bad matchup for DN who I think has him easily talent wise.
With favourable matchups basically everywhere bar Siakam on Horford,
A PG is where your offense is run, and I feel the difference in matchup between CP3 and Lillard is the big reason for my vote for Fade.
After your first, you change, you mature, you dont just jump into things.

After getting dunked on for the first time, life becomes complex.

With Smart off the bench, a stout frontcourt, and the best player in the series, I don't see how Fade can keep up.

I think DN has the significant offensive advantage, particularly with Iggy being able to guard PG. that should be enough here.

I don't see anything that bridges the talent / offense gap in DN's favor. Interior defense is better as well.
