Best 3D prospect at 37?

Post#1 » by Pinkyring » Sat Jun 15, 2019 9:15 pm

Mavs badly need perimeter defense and 3pt shooting next to luka, athleticism as well, is there anyone that fits that bill at 37?

Keldon Johnson, Chuma Okeke, Mattise Thybulle, Talen Horten-Tucker, Admiral Schofield, Louis King are guys that could be available there and are either 3D guy or many think they can become one.

Johnson is a very simple shooter with at best average defense, Thybulle is going 15 picks earlier, THT maybe, but he is not a shooter and is very raw, Schofield no chance, his defense is bad, Louis King is also a guy with no defensive upside

Chuma for sure if he's available, but will likely need a RS his first season essentially

Thybulle/THT will be long gone IMO.

Jaylen Nowell is intriguing, seems like a Mavs player on the surface, tho I'm not sure he's good enough on D to qualify as 3+D

Miye Oni, Charles Matthews, even tho Matthews couldn't shoot well from 3 in college i feel like he could develop into a decent spot up guy at some point.

Terence Davis was a good mention, Tyus Battle could develop into a guy at some point but 37 is too rich for him

I like Norwell to the Mavericks quite a bit.

But frankly, I'd be happy with Fernando, Gafford, Fall, Porter, Konate, or another Center (myabe Porter the least of those listed). We need a reserve center and no reason to swing for the fences at #37 when their should be someone who falls.

If KP wants to play the 4 to start games we need a starting 5 and the guy should be a big bruser to compensate for KP slight frame. Gafford would be a great get if a true difference making ung dosen't fall.

Agree with Terence Davis and would certainly consider Eric Paschall as well as Cody Martin.

If he can improve his lateral sharpness Brazdeikis makes a lot of sense for Dallas if available as he does have late first potential.
Plays with a strong winners attitude and motor etc.

Okeke won't likely fall there imo

Could Windler still be available? Schofield wouldn't be bad in that range. Should have at least a couple of options.

Hybrid defenders? textbook definition of an enone: organic compound consisting of an alkene conjugated to a ketone
FYI Schofield should be a decent defender at the next level he is built like a tank and his solid length at 6'10 ws

It's so fluid in the mid 30s, that it's nearly impossible to forecast who sneaks into the 1st or falls down to the 40s. Thybulle is the guy you'll want and should try to trade up for, but Dallas doesn't have the trade capital anymore.

I don't believe he will be available at 37 but Mattise Thybulle would fit on almost any team and probably produce right away defensively.

Don't get me wrong he was so efficient in the 2-3 zone defense that he probably will be a solid defender at the next level, but Thybulle isn't getting drafted before the 40's

id be shocked if Bulle dropped out of the first, some people have talked that he could even be a teens pick...some have linked him to OKC...GSW is probably the furthest he drops

I highly doubt it happens though...
