Too bad we couldn't squeeze into the deal. Let's hope we do something before the draft.

I have tons of respect for Bron, but I just hate Lakers fans way too much. I hope it all implodes.

Same here, except that I also hate the Lakers team :D

But despite the Pelicans not getting any great young talented players back, those unprotected picks and pick swaps will be huuuuuuge. Unless of course, the Lakers again get super lucky. Fortunately, their incompetent FO might screw this up. I mean, if it hadn't been for the brand "LA Lakers" and the city of LA, Bron wouldn't have signed there and consequently AD wouldn't have requested to be traded there.

Lakers even if they add another star like Kemba might still not win the west

That 2024 pick and 2025 pick swap will be hella valuable. LeBron is done at the time.

Come on... A healthy Kemba - LeBron - AD team will win the West.

Depends und ob whether they have the shooters or not.

If I were Rosas I would try to get Jrue for right price. Not sure if Lonzo stays in NOP though. If not they will try to reroute him

That team would certainly have enough talent to win the championship. However, having the talent isn't the same as actually doing it.

That is the one redeeming possibility out of this. I'd love to see LeBron get another title to infuriate the haters.

The West is propably pretty mediocre next year, so the path to the Finals is wide open for the Lakers. Unfortunately.

I like seeing LeBron win, but I hate seeing the Lakers win. My hating to see the Lakers win overrides my desire to see LeBron win. I hope this implodes on the Lakers and Davis leaves after the season.

Davis already said he’s agreeing to an extension

The player might take a little less to play with those guys. Plus, the lakers have plenty of money so they won't have a problem going over the cap into luxury.

Do you want us to get in trouble with the league office again?

A contract for four or more seasons can be renegotiated after the third anniversary of its signing, extension, or previous renegotiation (if the previous negotiation increased any season's salary by more than 5%). Contracts for fewer than four seasons cannot be renegotiated. A contract cannot be renegotiated between March 1 and June 30 of any year.

Only teams under the cap can renegotiate a contract, and the salary in the then-current season can be increased only to the extent that the team has room under the cap (and cannot increase the player's salary beyond the maximum salary). A renegotiation can only be used to provide a salary increase -- players can't take a "pay cut" in order to create more cap room for the team.

Facts are, Lakers are in a good position to make a big run this season. The Warriros were the only A+ team in the west. Then the Rockets were second at like an A-. Every other playoff contender is in the B+ through B range. There are like 10 pretty good teams in the and any one of them could make it through to the finals. AD and Lebron alone could give you a B range team. Its really wide open.

Hell the Timberwolves team from the 2017-2018 season would have a shot to make the finals if healthy if it was in the west this year. The NBA hasn't been this open for several years. Any team that has come close to a finals at all should be loading up. Probably close to one third of the league has a real chance to win a championship in 2020.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

That’s wishful thinking. Davis has gotten exactly what he wanted and he will be the face of the Lakers after Lebron retires.

I thought he was pretty adamant about reaching free agency, at least that’s what I heard before the trade.

That was before the trade but I believe that was put out there to reduce the number of potential suitors. After the trade, AD’s camp has said he’ll sign an extension
