If Suns don't draft a PG I think this means we are committed to a point Booker future.

I was just going to pose one for Chris Paul, but I'm not sure which team would want that, if either. I'm sure Minny would take Love back for Wiggins...I wonder how he'd feel about that.

While some would want a defensive PG, none as good as Russell overall are available. And while Bev would be great and all and cost less, the gap between his salary and Russell's is Tyler Johnson and Jackson. That gap is worth it to get Russell.

I really have a hard time with Russell and his intellect or lack thereof. The Nick Young thing with the Lakers and the latest Arizona Tea caper at the airport lead me to believe he is just going to continue to make stupid decisions both on and off the court.

Booker is already at risk for getting in trouble IMO. The Tyler Ulis hotel fight incident, dating Kylie Jenner's best friend, rumors of multiple girls pregnant by him. I'm not sure if adding a party buddy to the mix is a good move. Basketball-wise I'd hate for us to get rid of any of our defensive hustlers to get him or we go right back to the "lets try to outscore everybody" mode. I guess somebody could make the argument that with Dlo and Booker we actually could outscore everybody. Dunno.

If you honestly think Booker's current teammates aren't out partying with him also then I am not sure what to tell you.

Also, Russell makes better decisions on the court than most other PGs his age or younger.

If you are for signing DLo, why would you not want to give him the full 5 year max? What would be the purpose in making it shorter (unless he wanted it)?

I thought other teams can only offer a 4 year max? Only reason I mentioned DLo getting one year less than Booker.

We could be, but I think next year would be more indicative. We probably get some PG in FA even if we don't draft one now, even if a stopgap. Our long-term answer probably comes next year if we don't get somebody like Russell, in a draft deep in PGs all of whom at the top are way better than Coby freaking White who so many seem to love.

Yeah, you're right. I was thinking for some reason he would not want to give him as many years as he could.

Didn't someone on here point out Ashley Nevel gets her info from players? No wonder she's getting nothing through the offseason, then.

Yeah, for me, ideally we sign a guy like Beverley for a couple years, continue to see what we have in Melton/Okobo this next year while we have Tyler Johnson backing up the guard spots, use the pick in either a trade or something other than one of those PGs...and get the future PG in the draft next year (and/or maybe Okobo or Melton emerge into something)..

Of course if we can get a guy like Jrue that would be great, but I doubt he is traded, or Brogdon, or we could sign Russell and hope he continues to improve. I used to like the idea of him with Booker but now if they are both on max contracts it's a little more scary to me. I wish Russell was more efficient overall but at least he's young. Ultimately we need vast improvement from Book and Ayton to get anywhere so we'd just need it from Russell too...it's like a super gamble on youth and Monty developing them. I do think a defensive guy like Clarke would be a big plus if we get Russell (and probably in general)..in addition to having Bridges.

Wouldn't be surprised if the "NOLA wanting Beal" discussion is just a way to leverage Lavine from Chicago, who they were previously rumoured to have interest in. Still like Jrue to Chicago for Lavine, and the 4 for Sabonis. That's a sexy young team.

You know it will take a hell of a lot more than 4 to land Beal.

Sabonis is an interesting name that could get moved this summer. He's good but Indi doesn't play him and Turner together and sabonis needs to get paid soon. Could see them shop him for a guard.

I'd prefer DLo if he wasn't friends with Book - if we sign him and backcourt 2019 doesn't work out, it's going to be even harder to trade him than it was Ulis. Acquiring friends/ brothers always seems like an easy way to make goodwill at the time... But when has it ever ended well for us?

And at 4, Indy could land a high end starter at either PG (Garland, White) or SF (Hunter) to complement established paid starters Oladipo and Turner. They also retain TJ Leaf at PF, and have depth at PG (A Holiday) and SF (McBuckets) and cap to retain a combination of Collison and/ or Bogdanovic.
