Prediction: Nickeil Alexander-Walker
Wish : Romeo Langford
Darkhorse: Brandon Clarke
Trade Up For: Jarret Culver
Trade Down For: Matisse Thybulle

I'm assuming Prediction means who I think Orlando will pick? Because I do not want NAW.

Prediction: NAW
Wish : NAW, Herro, Clarke
Darkhorse: Brandon Clarke
Trade Up For: Jarret Culver - Not a fan of trading up, Cluver would be my pick if they did though.
Trade Down For: Matisse Thybulle - Great defender and played with Fultz. Again, I think the Magic should stay pat at 16.

Slept on it and I get the nuance now; maybe I was just tired.

Prediction: Nickeil Alexander-Walker
Wish: Nassir Little
Darkhorse: KZ Okpala
Trade Up For: Coby White, but I'm not really a fan of moving up in this draft.
Trade Down For: Matisse Thybulle

Prediction: Tyler Herro (this one might be more wish as I think he goes higher)
Wish: Tyler Herro (Romeo Langford would be good too)
Darkhorse: KZ Okpala
Trade Up For: Would love Darius Garland but not enough assets
Trade Down For: KZ Okpala

I would not trade down.

Romeo Langford is my second choice at #16 followed by KZ Okpala.

I'm not high on Nickeil Alexander-Walker. Last time there was a consensus around Orlando drafting a player mid-first round was when it was predicted and The Magic drafted Reece Gaines at #15 in 2003. NAW is not Gaines but am not high on what I've seen. Think he is a backup at best.

Some other options include Cameron Johnson, Keldon Johnson, Chuma Okeke and Matisse Thybulle.

Am I too pessimistic?

Gaines got pretty good reviews if I remember he had a good career at Louisville and I was ok with the pick I thought he'd be at least a rotational player. Sasser that was Doc on draft night after we picked him that said he was "The Iverson Stopper". Doc had way too much influence on player decisions when he was here.

Sasser was really bad and to think we could have Parker, Gerald Wallace, Dalembert, Tinsley or Arenas instead...

Yes Tony Parker was right there. Doc had a fascination with big PGs regardless of their talent lol.

Our GM and staff seem to have the same fascination, but not only for PGs...

LOL!

Just how consistent the Mock Drafts have pegged him at #16 for weeks now just reminds me of that was with Gaines back in 2003 at #15.

Not saying NAW will be Gaines but it's given me a bad feeling. I also feel Herro, Langford and Ozpala are better options provided they are available.

Not the next Penny.

Some thought he would be the starting point guard and I never felt more than a backup and actually thought he'd be a bust. I never liked that pick at all.

I don't recall Gaines' reviews. Jerryl Saasser was a mistake from the beginning. They felt having a big point guard would help for defensive proposes.

They passed on Tony Parker, Gilbert Arenas (The version before Orlando) and Jamaal Tinsley for him.

Gaines and Sasser might have been bigger busts in Magic history than Fran Vazquez. You see with Gaines and Sasser, everyone knew pretty quickly that once they saw them play a regular season game that this was a BIG mistake.

With Vazquez, you were pissed but had hope for years that he would come over.

Now, I respect Gaines and Sasser a lot more than him. However, at least Vazquez gave hope while in particular knew instantly Gaines and Sasser were busts even before they put on a Magic Uniform.

Those bad draft picks where Rivers and John Gabriel could not agree was a big factor in both losing their jobs during that disasterous 2003-2004 season.

You're the man Howard Mass. I live in Lake Mary if you ever want to have a realgm meet up or something.
