Zero concerns about his height as a SG. He's taller than other SGs like James Harden and Zach LaVine....they do just fine at SG.

Jarrett Culver
Position: Guard

6-5, 195lb (196cm, 88kg)

Hometown: Lubbock, TX

High School: Coronado High School

School: Texas Tech

I don't know 30% shooting at the college level is a big concern of mine.

Go Wolves!

How about because his college strength and conditioning coach said so?

He measured at 6' 5.25'' without shoes at the NBA Combine. For reference, James Harden measured at 6'4.0'' without shoes at the 2009 NBA Combine.

The shooting is a valid concern, but I believe he can improve. He shot 38 percent from 3-point range as a freshman.

So you're comparing him to a first-ballot hall-of-famer James harden?

from what I understand the reason his 3-point shooting dropped is cuz they paid more attention to him this is a very valid concern.

Yes, I am comparing HEIGHTS of one shooting guard to another shooting guard. If you go back a few pages, you can find the heights of most of the SGs starting in the league last year. Culver fits in as one of the tallest.

I don't know he look like s*** in the NCAA and only shooting 30% in college is a huge red flag. I think he's destined to be at 9th or 10th guy on a good team. Sorry I just don't see it.

Honestly since you pointed out that they allow more steps in private workouts, I think the # is more believable. Let's subtract 5 inches from it and then we can compare it to combine verticals.

Like I said 6' 6.75" in shoes. You don't play in bare feet so why use that measurement?

He shot 38% the year before from 3.

we will see I'm pulling for him but we all know the Timberwolves wanted Garland and panicked. I just don't think he's going to be anything special he's just a guy.

Culver’s lower body flexibility and rhythm are tremendous. He’s able to contort his knees and ankles in ways that most can’t. There’s an offbeat rhythm to his game that is really hard to guard and adjust to. He uses different timing than others on drives, and a lot of that is due to flexibility and strength in his lower body. It’s like adjusting to guard a left-handed player. It’s not something your body is natural at, so it makes it more difficult. Your body is used to a specific timing and rhythm while playing basketball, but Culver goes against those normal movements. Because of those rare advantages and combined with his touch, he is shooting a ridiculous 69 percent at the rim on 205 attempts, and only 25 percent assisted. He’s creating his own shot and finishing at a very high level despite the lack of burst or vertical explosion.

I mean think about it, we gave up a guy who's better than him at six foot ten when we really wanted Garland and we could have got a guy just as good at 11 it was a big f****** up. there's no way to spin it the front office f***** up and got a guy who's probably a 9th or 10th guy on a good team.
