You would still have ~15m in cap space tp spend and a 5m MLE to spend.

Considering how similar Nets play to Boston did prior to Kyrie, adding Horford (the centerpiece) of that type of ball sharing would be ideal IMO.

Because we would waste our opportunity at max cap space, which we wont have for along time with all our young guys coming up for contracts. even if its just to have a high level asset.

id rather play kurucs then sign only horford. only horford does nothing

Horford would get a max if he was 3 years younger, the guy is like Tim Duncan in terms of consistency. A low usage player that has been top 20 in RPM last two seasons.
Russell is also a max FA.

Both players make sense with the coach. Kyrie doesn't make sense.

If you can get Kawhi or KD then go for it, otherwise Horford, Russell, Bogdanovic is the best option IMO. I'd have Brooklyn as equal 1st next season with Bucks and Raptors.

No chance that puts us on that level. It's like the old JJ Hawks teams. Solid, deep and not close to winning anything.

1. KD/Kawhi
2. Kyrie/Kawhi
3. Kyrie/KD
4. Kyrie/Russell/Tobias (dump Dinwiddie)
5. Kyrie/Russell/Horford

Those are my top 5 options.

Many connections between Kawhi and ex-Spurs personnel now on the Nets. Also, after his quad surgery in Manhattan, Kawhi stayed with Uncle Dennis in his South Orange, NJ home while he did his rehab. Likes the area. Supposedly he wasn't happy about being sent to Toronto and reached out to other players about teaming up and Nets were mentioned as a possible destination.

https://nypost.com/2018/07/18/kawhi-leonard-gives-nets-reason-to-dream-about-2019/

Kyrie grew up in the next town over in West Orange and his dad still lives there and Kyrie frequently visits. Multiple sources have stated that Kyrie bought a house in South Orange, NJ just last month.

Kawli and Kyrie, maybe teammates and neighbors??

Only 20 miles from South Orange to Barclays center. Less than an hour if you avoid rush hour traffic.

I think that team is better than the 16-18 Celtics that made the conference finals twice in a row. Young guys will be better next season.

The East is so much stronger now though. Those C's teams had an easier road.

Kyrie makes the most sense by far. he raises our ceiling and our floor the most. a Dlo/Kyrie pairing would be ideal.

We had bogs here. no thanks

South Orange is a great area for a guy like Leonard because he's very low key. However, I don't see him coming to the Nets just because of nice well to do suburb.

Also, that commute from South Orange to Brooklyn is a royal bitch.

Completely agree he's not coming just because of the location, but his familiarity with the area is just another little thing that adds to other little reasons that could sway his decision. The main reason of course is because he thinks he can win with the Nets.

I lived in that area for over 30 years. The commute during rush hour is horrendous - can easily take more than 2 hours. But they won't be driving at those times. RT 280 to Holland tunnel to Canal St to Manhattan or Brooklyn bridge. Or can avoid Manhattan by taking the slightly longer way through Staten Island. Or they can just head over to Morristown airport and take a helicopter.

Brooklyn is also great for a low-key person. There's a lot of anonymity in NYC.

Celtics looking into vucevic.

it would put a hop in my step if we got kyrie and they got vucevic. we get better and they max the most empty stats player the leagye has seen in decades

I've been body slamming those ass holes on the GB all week long and will continue to do so regardless of the outcome of free agency. They are the most arrogant and delusional fanbase in the NBA and I'm sick of their **** and their constant disrespect of our team.

They sell out primarily because of long standing corporate season ticket holders. It will take a long time for the Nets to get there, and I honestly hope they never do. It tends to hamper the truly passionate fans from getting tickets.

I do hope the Nets eventually get a more equitable distribution of weekend home games. The Nets only had 7 weekend home games all season. 5 of those were on football Sundays. Knicks had 15 home weekend games. Weekend games are an easier draw, especially for fans from NJ.

the lack of weekend games, especially saturday games, are a killer for sure. It's easier for me to make saturday afternoon or night games.

And thanks for bringing up the corporate season ticket holders at MSG. I'm going to use that as some gunfire the next time one of those dudes talk ****
