Clarke to me is like the Bulls' Tyrus Thomas, but with a good head on his shoulders and with a motor. Which to me is a pretty useful player, because very early on in his career, when his head was into it, Tyrus looked like an absolute game-changer and helped the Bulls to the #1 D in the league.

Yeah Thomas with brains, better lateral movement and like 7 inches shorter wingspan

He plays “guard the other teams best player” position.

Oh phew. For a second I though he might struggle guarding the likes of Towns, Giannis, Embiid, Leonard, Jokic, Irving, PG, Harden and so on.

Doesn’t everyone struggle against those guys?

I guess I’m saying I personally feel really confident that he’s one of the best in the nba almost right away at coming close to being able to defend 5 positions. Of course the best guards and best centers will be tough for him.

I think Clarke and Zion both are some of the most versitle defenders to come into the draft in a while.

Nugs have a #1 option in Jokic and run their offense through him in some unique ways. The OP of this thread nailed it about the perfect fit. He’s the perfect fit w jokic/Murray. Clarke is also a perfect fit for the 2 young combo forwards the Nugs are hoping are a big part moving forward in MPJ and Vanderbilt. The 3 of them could be a sick forward rotation to replace Milsap and hopefully Barton’s minutes if they’re traded

People get so caught up in the wingspan and standing reach measurements, but don't forget about the jumping ability when it comes to Clarke.

Clarke has a standing reach of 8'6" (102") but a max vert of 40.5" (total: 142.5"). Is that really worse than say Taj Gibson, who measured a standing reach of 9'1" (109") but a max vert of only 30" (total: 139")?

I think he actually somewhat comps in measurables and play style to Dante Cunningham. 8'10.5" (106.5") standing reach and 35" max vert (total: 141.5"), 6'8" and 227 lbs for Cunningham as a SF/PF. DC has been a valuable role player on good teams, and has played 10 years and started nearly 200 games. I wouldn't be upset with that as a return in the back of the lottery.

Pacers could please me by taking two Zags to join Damos. Clarke or Rui at 18 and Norvell at 50!

Rui Hachimura not only is he going to be one of the best players from this draft..he will be one of the best players in the nba (top 25). You can come back to this thread.

Why will he be better than Derrick Williams?

Strange request for an individual comparison. Rui isn’t dumb as ****. That’s the simplest reason why

Well, he's gonna play with JJJ and perhaps Jonas V. Can you play all of them together? It sure would be fascinating defensively - see some comparisons to Toronto's front court?

Clarke will be able to defend 2’s and 3’s but like jjj will be best against 4’s

jJJ on one side and Clarke on the others could change forever what people thought a zone defense could do??

I think Rui will end up being the steal of the draft.

And possibly 2-4 more future nba 1st round picks on Gonzaga frontline next year? How is this possible

Because America doesn't have a monopoly on tall people and Gonzaga is the only big-time program that recruits international players with any regularity.

i like Tillie but he's a year older and if he gets injured again might not even make it into the 1st. should've came out this year.

Petrusev seems like a 3 or 4 year player to me, Watson more of a 2 or 3 year guy.

You're prob right. And I didn't mean 2020 picks.

Tillie yeah prob not a 1st except he might very well be a guy a good team in the 20's grabs?

3 freshman bigs and Anton Watson. Something will come out of that
