Sign him. By the time he’s ready to suit up, hopefully we’ll have continued to draft well and have developed our young talent into quality players if not all star caliber players, not to mention whatever max player we sign to go along with him.

He could also live a happy life staying with the Warriors and earning that extra year of max money.

Did KD have an option to opt in for one year for the GSW?

I'm in favor of signing him, but if we dont, whateves. Still in a way better spot long term than 9 years ago.

Imagine if we GS didnt c*ckblock us and we drafted Curry? We prob wouldve traded him away for cap space

If Kyrie signs here, he's coming into the worst team in the NBA last year and without KD this year, if Kyrie can take this team to the playoffs, he will be looked at as a top player that he wants to be considered. With the Nets, he's going into a playoff team. A small step up means nothing there. Would only confirm that he's not a true star. If he fails with the Knicks, it likely gets put on how bad the Knicks are.

KD will come back year 2, with a fringe playoff team (if Kyrie signs) and have a chance to take the long time loser Knicks over the top. Something no one has been able to do. If he can't, the injury gets blamed. Good for legacy either way, since he took on a challenge. With the Nets, it's much less of a feat.

Both guys can really help their reputation here. I want them here, because it's really hard to get those caliber of players. We won't get this opportunity for a few years.

Did you see Kyrie in Boston? Dude was playing on a team that went to the Eastern Conference finals. And guess what Kyrie was still miserable!!!
Imagine the barking he’s going to do here playing with a bunch of young players. That was his main complaint in Boston.

That was a team that went to the conference championship without Kyrie. Kyrie and the dominating style of ball handling that he wanted to do there was seen as a hindrance by the young players. They immediately clashed. Fiz doesn’t have that a Brad Stevens type of system. He lets his PGs dominate the ball. Stylistically it’s a match made in heaven. There are no young guys who achieved anything here and there won’t be that animosity.

If anything going to playoff team Brooklyn, will be more of a challenge, if they don’t improve. He will be seen as someone ruining their style of team ball.

He has nobody to pass the ball to here besides Barrett. Defenses would just key on him and make everybody else beat them. Kyrie would just start complaining about the young players blah , blah, blah.

Agreed.

To answer your question from the last thread, I think KD looks like either a prime Rashard Lewis or faded Dirk after the surgery. :-?
