I love your posts and usually agree with you but I sense that we're about to get it inprepare yourself- i have some experience in this field my good buddy
Did Nique have fractured feet preceding their achilles? KD's feet, calves and now achilles are all issues now. He ain't right down there.
I'm not saying he won't be back and productive to some unknown degree, but you believing in that because Nique did it doesn't make it more probable when most players are significantly diminished by it.
You do realize we can't really debate this very much, because neither of us know how he'll turn out. You can argue probabilities which is what we may be doing now, but quite honestly I don't see how you can say the history of these injuries is favorable in his 30s by pointing to Nique who is an outlier case.
Guys with feet issues can end up with significant compensatory injuries and we don't know why KD was having calf issues and if they are related to structural support from the feet up, but his injury history is probably connected to the achilles now. That's why I'm skeptical of this belief in him. It is not a knock against his will to overcome. It is just a disbelief due to his physical issues from the soles of his feet up to his knee and he may never be close to what he was as a result.
You want to risk it on him?
Cool
Your prerogative and that's not something I want to debate. I simply don't think he is worth the risk after his prior injuries that may be structurally related and at his age.
If it comes down to a gut check instead of facts, I respect my gut and I'll respect your faith, but I will still call your conviction faith rather than certitude. You cannot be certain of his level of play when he returns. None of us can. You can believe in him if you wish to.
I want to have a discussion with you on this but I cant if you are going to compare average players to KD. Yes I said that because
KD is one of the best out of 400 plus players in this league...do you think that's fair? If so then we can get back to it
You can favor his chances of recovery because he's an elite player if you wish. I don't. Saying he's elite because of work ethic is not unfair to say. He is a big player so he will have access to the best treatment and recovery services so there's that.
It is still belief at the end of the day. We can debate the odds of success, but if you really believe it is going to happen I'm not going to try to discourage you any further.
What I will tell you is I'M DAMN TIRED OF THE NEW YORK KNICKS GOING ALL IN ON MAX CATS THAT ARE GOING TO BE WELL PAST THEIR PRIME DURING THEIR CONTRACT OR ARE INJURY PRONE PLAYERS.
I'm effing sick of it! That's my belief system talking
