He is an NBA coach so his current popularity will last as long as he has the best talent. Jack Ramsay was god in Portland after he replaced the great Lenny Wilkens and won a championship with talent Wilkens didn't have. I sat in the stands and listened to the crowd boo and chant "fire Ramsay." This is what 8 years does to an NBA fans memory.

Does Raptors success mean Popovich and Spurs screwed up? If trading for Leonard for just 1 chance at a championship was worth it, then why would it not be worth keeping him for just 1 more year to win a championship?

His new title is associate head coach. That sounds pretty good. He's a head coach now, but you have never heard anyone chant fire the associate head coach.
