Normally you'd think Randle is the profile of a player I don't like. Not that great on defense, chance that he'll get paid out of proportion to his production.
But he's an interesting fit for the Knicks.
They need a PF, of any kind, bad. This doesn't mean they have to throw a bunch of money at anyone, I get that.
He's young, and getting better. Or at least got better years 1-4 and is pretty good, right now.
Defensive players help you win, but so do versatile players.
Randle is a versatile player offensively. He can shoot 3's, puts the ball on the floor VERY well for a PF and EXTREMELY well for a C, where he'll see time
Randle is also capable of playing C, as a mismatch\backup 5. Knicks could use some C depth too.
He'd be interesting at a certain price and number of years. Ideally 2 years, so if the "Randle Experiment" doesn't work, it's not a long time until he comes off the books. Would sort of mitigate if he's the "THJr of PFs"
