I’ve been thinking it was gonna be this for a while and with KD going down with his injury Kawhi was the first person who popped up in my mind who could relate to him.

All this Nets/Lakers **** is just for show and for the weak to get intimidated.

It’s down to the Clippers and us wherever KD & Kawhi are going, the Raptors are out the picture for Kiwi.

While I'm really hoping you're right, I can't figure out why, if that truly is their master plan, Kawhi wouldn't just do a 1+1 with TOR while KD signs with the Knicks in order to hedge some really bad odds with Durant's achilles.

Unless he just doesn't want TOR bottom line.

I don’t think he really cares to be in Toronto.

Kawhi legit only cares about basketball and being happy playing basketball.

He never asked to be traded to Toronto, he has no connection with them, he got them a title & his comments in the Finals post conference were really telling about him not committing there.

Knicks been quiet the whole time and their plan is Kawhi and Kd from day one.

Oh my goodness guys i just won the whole offseason for our Knicks.

We sign Kawhi and K.Durant and do a sign and trade with the 76ers for J.Butler and now we're still a team ready to win next year while KD takes the year off to get healthy.

Knicks 2019 offseason
K.Durant
Kawhi
J.Butler

I keep hearing that if we strike out on the A+ free agents we should wait until next year, but outside of A.D, in which I don't see him leaving the Lakers, I just don't feel that there is anyone worth waiting for. I'm rather take my chances on DLo, Randle, Mario, and DJ. Young, athletic, players that move the ball, and can shoot it.

Dlo/DSJ/KA
RJ/Fot/Trier
Knox/Frank/Iggy
Randle/Mario
Dj/Mitch/Luke

Man that would be a fun team to watch. Possibly 45-48 wins this year at maybe 6th seed, increasing to 54 the next. Having a young team like this is something to build on for the future.

Magic underpaying for Vucevic. We offer 4 years at 120 mil. Hes young and talented and the magic aint going nowhere. He would get a LOT of recognition in MSG.

We don’t like him for the Knicks[/quote

Please explain why??

Clippers don't have the space unless they're taking discounts.

MaseInYourFace wrote:Problem with that rumor is KL will choose LA if it comes down to us and Clips. Durant knowing him probably wants some assurance there will be another star with him. Don’t agree Clips have a more attractive core though. They have a great six man and a coach players love.

I’m not so sure about that anymore.

With Durant I’ll keep saying if he is going to team up with Kawhi in LA why sell your house in Malibu? Literally no sense.

nyk123 wrote:Ok, this is assuming we strike out on the big names, and I for one don’t feel like signing Kevin Durant is the best course of action to take even if he wants to sign here.

Free agency:
Go after the following players and keep the contracts to 2 year maximum even if that means paying more on a per year average.

Julius Randle: efficient scorer and rebounder with poor defense that hopefully Mitch can help cover up.
JJ Reddick: veteran sharpshooter to help keep defenses honest.
Pat Beverly: grizzled veteran defender to help set the tone of a young team- easy fan favorite

Deandre Jordan: great veteran and plus defender rebounder and finisher

Lineup:
C. Mitch Robinson/ Deandre Jordan
PF. Julius Randle/ Kevin Knox
Sf. RJ Barrett/ Kevin Knox
SG. JJ Reddick/ Alonzo Trier
PG. Dennis Smith/ Pat Beverly

To me this is a competitive team that is a real playoff team in the east, and has flexibility moving forward to be a player in future free agency while developing young core players. Let me know what you think.

JJ already lives in BKLYN (DUMBO) so no moving for him  but I see him going to a contender or just staying with Philly..

Lakers also have Lebron & AD though.
Lakers vs. Knicks instead of Lakers vs. Clippers might be a better storyline for their careers.

This and the West being so tough makes a lot of sense. New York with KD/Kawhi would be front runners and prob be a playoff team without KD next year.

god shammgod wrote:woj really knows how to ramp up the excitement. i was ready for the tank next year with or without kd.

maybe we'll still tank and give kawhi a heavy load management year. would he really take a year off to wait for kd when he could win another championship next year. i still don't see it. would love to be wrong though.

It's hard to see another star taking the knee for a year. But he's young and already has one so maybe?
