bingo

Teague on 1 yr deal might be attractive alternative to some teams compared to what is in FA PGs, but other teams know Wolves are fairly "stuck" if they can't move him

If the league doesn't care about opening up a max spot for the Lakers, I doubt they give a dam about helping the timberwolves lol

I think you may be right

Seems like quite a few insiders/experts believe Wolves can trade Teague into space

we'll see

It sounds like we would give him the max.

Read on Twitter
?s=19

Or they are making assumptions he will get the max. The reality is we can clear enough to make a competitive offer up to the max. That doesn't mean he is getting it. Windy predicted he will get about 20 million. Just saying...

was he predicting LAL?

No. Though there was another tweet by someone that said the LALs were open to that amount 20 million offer.

A young all star, ideal in the pace and space era, and put up some numbers last year. Yet every team that needs a pg upgrade are going away from him except us and the suns?

If we can send them both in separate deals that would work but that is a big if. And, why would DLo wait for us if we can't guarantee that we can even make those moves since it all depends on other teams.

Yeah it seems unlikely. Would be cool to see Wiggins traded instead. Teague can still be moved for more cap space and asset if need be or just run the second unit. Then we can possibly dump Dieng next year or let him go for cap space. Even if Wolves can't get DLo, it seems like there is some light ahead with enormous flexibility and chance for new FO to reconstruct the roster

I would rather see what towns, Wiggins and DLo can do. At least for a year

Wouldn't mind that either. I still think Wiggins can turn things around cuz everything is mental with the guy. Here's hoping he flips the switch. With Okogie and Culver pushing him, birth of his first child, and another year, it's now or never for Wiggins in Minnesota

We wouldn't have  drafted Culver if Trading Wiggins wasn't already the plan. HE GONE! Wish him well and hope he becomes a superstar.

Here's the latest tweets.

Chris Haynes✔@ChrisBHaynes
Minnesota Timberwolves to meet with Brooklyn Nets restricted free agent guard D’Angelo Russell at the start of free-agency, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Keith Smith✔@KeithSmithNBA
Told that D'Angelo Russell's team would not have set a meeting with the Minnesota Timberwolves without assurances Wolves could clear the necessary cap space to sign Russell. Minnesota has made it clear they believe they can get to the $27.25M max space necessary to sign Russell.
11:19 AM - Jun 29, 2019

Keith Smith✔@KeithSmithNBA
Multiple teams have heard that Minnesota is confident that they can trade Andrew Wiggins this summer. Doing so could open up the cap space necessary to sign D'Angelo Russell, who is tight with Karl-Anthony Towns.

Saying we can trade Wiggins this summer is nice and all, but the Free agency clock starts ticking tomorrow.

There is also a tweet that says the Nets will work with getting DLo a S&T to his desired destination if it works for them.

Norseman79 wrote:DLo is getting the max. The max for DLo is 27 mil per year. Brooklyn will not take salary back. If we take on DLo's max, we would need to she approx 27 mil in space, as our space is limited and we do have a roster to fill out. This is why other players that some people may not want to be moved might have to be included in order to create an opportunity for Dlo. At least, this is how I understand it, if I am wrong, then I apologize.

I think you have it right. Maybe we can wheel and deal for another teams trade exception or something like that. I'm no capologist though so maybe that can't be done. I seem to recall that trade exceptions can't be combined. Moving Wiggins is the perfect way as his salary I think would be a match for the Russell Max. Teague may have to be combined with Dieng. If Dieng is gone welcome to the Wolves Naz Reid. I'm hearing Rumors of KBD and Dieng both going out? Would that leave RoCo to play the PF by himself. Play 48 like Wilt Chamberlain used to do.

Yeah and that seems to me like we throw them a second round pick.

Free Agency officially starts at 12:01 EDT so that means the Wolves should be meeting with Russell at 9:01 PDT in Los Angeles. Would it be a breach if they were in the same room prior to that time?

His new shoe deal might significant raise it he goes there. However, LAL might look to get Kawhi, Butler first. This is our chance to convince Russell to come here as #1 option I also wonder how LAL will fill roster if they sign Russell or another max player. They will find ring chasers for vet min or just go over salary cap and pay taxes? I have no idea.

Utah took conley
Celtics likely walker
Nets likely irving
Charlotte likely rozier
Pacers likely rubio
Magic chose to sign vuc instead of a pg even after collison retired.

Suns have no one.
Wolves looking for an upgrade.
Lakers, but i think they break their cap for multiple guys instead of dlo.

Like i said, not a great market for a young all star, unless you are one of the teams with a dlo bff.

Yep....That was my first thought. Culver makes him expendable.

The sad part is Wigs COULD turn into a major star! The odds are against it but the odds are beaten every day.

That's the very reason I don't want to give up significant assets to move him.

Make a poll who people would rather have at same money between Wiggs and D-Lo. There’s your answer

Read on Twitter

I dont believe SAS most of the time but he does have connections, but he could also be bs-ing. If Kyrie doesnt sign with BKN we are screwed. Woj did say that Kyrie and BKN are both expected to sign a big deal.

Well to become a major star you got to have Heart, Skill and Work Ethic, Wigs has none of the above. He just has raw athletic ability and nothing else. If he just put on 20 lbs of muscle he would be a major plus player simply by driving to the basket. He gets constantly stripped on drives due to lack of strenth.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
