I watch both teams since the early 2000's so i know what i am talking about. A lot of people here can't even handle the level of criticisms that the fans and media level on the red sox everyday. You can't.

I may or may not watch the games. If i do it will be as casual fan. I have learnt not to get too invested in sports because it is just a game at the end of the day. They win good, they don't win good too. I am done criticizing them. Whatever ends up happening with them short, and long term happens. Being a casual fan is much better. You choose to watch whenever you want to and not caring about the results.

I like you, but we are not doing this. There is zero need to make the same exact post over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

You are obviously completely entitled to your opinion, but c'mon man, rein it in. Kemba is awesome, and the team is in great position to make a move for a big by the deadline.

Yes. But Kemba isnt exactly known for his defense and the last thing we need is a big who doesn't either.

Unless there's a trade we'll gonna have to do it with band aid help at the big men spot. Barring no trade I fully expect something like that French big man and a Looney-type. There are no defensive anchors on the free agent market we can pay. Kanter played well in the play-offs I'm fine with 20 mins of him in our current situation.

You're kinda screwed in the East if you can't credibly defend Embiid and Giannis. Not sure any of these guys on the market do much on that front, but accumulating a non-negative mid-level salary asset that'll win you some regular season games is probably the only play from here.

So we gonna see any major trades prior to tonight from any teams?

Has Ainge been sweating Houston for a better deal? The old, ‘sure were interested, oh but not for that price, what’s that? times running out and you really want Butler? Sure, give us Capela for a Yabusele and 2nd rounder, done.’

Fair enough. But if you have a legit starting center, then you are at least only looking to supplement.

But going into a season where you are expecting to compete for the Finals without a legit center, just won't work.

It's just like the Red Sox without a closer... This Red Sox team is loaded with talent but struggling to keep it's head above water because of a glaring weakness.

Not really sure we should be acting like we're truly a contender just yet. Give Danny a season to find another star to go with Kemba, and see how the young guys develop with a bit more responsibility, while seeing what you have in the rookies. That's my goal for this upcoming season. Too many holes to think we can be a contender, and that's fine. We just lost two max FAs. Patience is key right now, as much as it feels good to be proactive.

Patience doesn't work in pro sports. Not is the Boston market anyway. Danny tried to be patient in his pursuit of AD and it blew up in his face.

JB is going to want to highlight himself heading into restricted FA. If this team struggles and is still trying to decide who should come off the bench between Brown and Hayward, we're going to see the same "Brad Favors Hayward" stories coming out.

You have to have people in their proper roles. "Letting people develop" is dependent IMO on people being in their proper roles. This age of "positionless basketball" doesn't work for young players trying to make a name for themselves.

Long story short, we need a legit starting center to be a winning a team IMO, and if we aren't a winning team early we are going to be revisiting some of the baggage from last season.

I'm not talking about waiting a year or two to do something, I just don't think it's wise to make a bad move now just because we feel pressure to "compete". FWIW, I am in the 'move Brown' camp for the reasons you list above and that I don't think his salary fits with our future plans, but I also don't want to give him up now for a meager return, when patience may lead to a better outcome.

I'm re-watching MacGruber to pass the time today. If you've never seen it before, then I am envious of you. It is, without a doubt, one of the GOATs.

You Kanter always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you get what you need.

I'm trying too hard now, I know. Lol

Here's how I read the Kanter-Celtics rumor:

Mark Bartelstein, who's the agent of Gordon Hayward (and RJ Hunter), asked permission from Danny if he can use the Celtics as a "probable destination" to raise interest in Kanter around the league. Ainge doesn't mind esp. since we're getting Bradley Beal, another Bartelstein client, sometime this season.

I was really good at Connect-the-Dots as a child. I also sell tin foil hats as a side-business for anyone interested.

I'm sure there are countries where he's as safe as or safer than in the United States, especially as long as the US has a dictator-loving president.

That said, crossing borders risks at least a hassle for him these days, with a slight chance of much worse, so the US is probably the best place for him anyway.
