I'm not sold on that. There was approximately 40 bazillion in cap space and he went to the highest bidder (by presumption), why would he be valuable?

Favors with Zion is what I care about, and I see a clashing right there. Add in Ball, and it just gets worse.

why because neither is a shooter?

I think plenty of teams have 4s and 5s with limited range. Favors can passably play with Gobert, so he should be able to do the same with Zion. Dream fit it is not, buy short of 2-3 available big men who was that guy NO should have gotten instead?

Utah can't take anyone back, AFAIK. Do the Pelicans have the capspace to take him? Getting him for one year may be a lot better than having to sign him for 3 or 4 at who knows how much.

NO just barely has the cap if Nicolo signs for the room exception and bertans is waived. Feels like maybe this was in the works before the redick signing looking at the numbers.

I agree, but I still think there were worse alternatives. Favors is at least a much better defensive player. Think New Orleans is relying on Nicolo to be NBA ready for spacing.
