One year deal with a player option.

The first person to learn how to spell Hezonjia without looking it up gets a cookie.

It’s always a good idea to sign former Magic players. They seem to always Improve.

Seems like a Nik Stauskas type signing. But the good thing is he'll be further down the depth chart, so it shouldnt matter much. Good value signing for a 13th man type

Portland has a pretty well respected player development staff, so taking a low risk chance on a former lottery pick is an easy swing for the team to take.

I doubt he is expecting a 13th man role. I bet rumors that Harkless is gone in a yet to be announced trade are true. Maybe Leonard is gone too.

He played 21 mpg on a horrible Knicks team last year. Shot 41% from the field and 28% from 3. Had a PER of 11. He should just be happy with an NBA contract

Basketball reference says one of his nicknames is Super Mario.

Perhaps, Blazers stockpiling for a trade-deadline trade? Cash in for somebody to play next to a newly healthy Nurkic?

Not into Super Mario, although I wasted a lot of money on that arcade game.

They tried to sign Hezonjia last year if you recall... not shocked Olshey went back to the well. Maybe a Layman S&T for a Center?

I can't see why Layman would need to be S&T'd to anyone. He's not worth a contract that would require that.

I think Layman probably doesn't get an offer and just plays out his final year QO in Portland and the team just lets the chips fall where they may with regards to playing time for the 2nd and 3rd stringers.

You would need a S&T if it was to a capped team who wanted him and was willing to give up a center.

ehh he was starting to come into his own the season before. Some players see an opportunity to shine when a teams crashing and burning other players thrive better in a more stable situation with better talent around them. I suspect Hezonja fits into the latter category. I think this is a great signing, a big 3 that can shoot. I think our 3 spot rotation is looking pretty solid now. Would like to see Harkless minutes there cut down too, maybe increased at the 4 a bit, and I think Hood and Hezonja might allow that.

He's another trash talking Bosnian. Hopefully like the last one we got he'll get good enough to back it up.

I didn't know he was Bosnian. Maybe we should call him Little Mario. I thought all Bosnians were 7' 280.
