I would take Kanter.... Every time I see him play, he looks like a stud out there. His defense is awful I know, but would be nice to have some rebounding for once. There arent defensive studs out there at this point so might as well get the guy who can be a plus on the boards and offense.

Is there any way we can change the PHX offer to exclude Baynes and add other stuff? Assuming Baynes would want to be back of course? Baynes with Kanter would be a nice pairing.

Your panicking. There are moves yet to be completed. The Butler trade is a big deal if he can't get a S&T done with HOU or MIA that may change a lot of things around the league. Ainge magically pulls Kemba out of a hat after Kyrie and Al walk let him do his thing. It doesn't matter how many other FA's sign with other teams what is important is that Ainge gets the right guy at the right price for Boston.

Maybe - but it does seem like a glaring hole in the line up. At this point the sign and trade stuff feels like a golden ring to point to distract from the very real need the Celtics have? I get it is day one of free agency, but I'm allowed to feel my feelings!

I understand your panicking it is certainly a big issue. One challenge is that it sounds like the team has a lot more faith in Robert Williams than fans do. His sample size was small but he avg 5 blocks per 36 mins so the team may not have the same concerns that the position is as wide open as it seems. Add in Theis and the need isn't as glaring as it seems from a serviceable perspective. So Ainge may be looking for a difference maker at the 4 or 5 and may also be looking at bringing back Morris.

Sure was but I think his point remains. Even while Al did a good/great job on Giannis and Embiid they still put up numbers. A lot easier to play against his supporting cast.

I"m going all crazy now. Sign Kanter to the room ex, trade yabu and a 2nd for Dwight Howard. Kemba played with him and they both had a good year. (now if Kemba says don't do it, fine).

20 mpg if healthy he can at least defend the Embiids of the world and rebound.
