I was hoping we could put a deal together around Wheeler in order to get the Skankees to take Cano back. I know. We would have to eat 1/2 of the contract ($40M over 4 years). Maybe we give them Vargas or Frazier too for their playoff run. I'd offer Dominic Smith if I thought it would bring back the talent we need but Vogt is hitting up a storm. I think DSmith would be great in Yankee Stadium.

I tried to appeal to his sense of Yankees history. He LOL"d me. Fcker.

If you gave us Cano and ate all his salary we still wouldn't bring him over. His no hustle game is the last thing I would want on this team for another 4 years.
Why rely on nuance, facts and logic when you can bludgeon the other side with mindless repetition of "Duuur McDaniel's has potential :tooth and still be treated as if you were reasonable.

We’d be giving you other assets in the deal but I hear you.

Besides our infield is already full as it is.

No real room for Dominic Smith anyway. Where would he get at bats? 1st base/DH is covered by Encarnacion and Voit. We don't have enough outfield at bats for Clint Frazier as it is. We'd need controllable pitching assets and you guys aren't in a position to offer up someone interesting enough to take on Cano.

Even sending back Ellsbury wouldn't be good enough to do the deal since he pretty much expires next year (has a 5 million buy out for the following year).

The Knicks did fine though the media is having fun with them.

The Mets are a disgrace. And, yet, we’re only 9 games under .500. But that ship be sinking.

Our owner - Jeff - is an imbecile. He's a spoiled little brat who isn't very bright and lacks attention for detail. He has no business owning a baseball team.

There's just no day off from this fooking team. :noway:

Can they go ahead and buyout Bobby Bonilla's contract or something? Getting tired of the yearly reminder on "Why Mets still pay Bobby Bonilla 1.7 million a year"

The BP was much better today, obviously. Hopefully, Wilson and Avilan will give us the boost we need.

Also, Diaz is now throwing more fastballs, which is boding well for him.

little tidbits

- brett baty, mets first rounder, got promoted to kingsport -- still a low level but good that he showed he can crush gcl pitching.

- the mets top ifa signing, francisco alvarez who's a catcher, is off to a 9 for 22 start with 3 doubles and 2 homeruns -- it's good because his calling card was his power and he's showing it.
LOL Y U MAD THO?

francisco alvarez promoted to kingsport too, this is could because it means they'll both start in low a next year(baty was a given, alvarez wasn't because he's 17)

I feel like we're going to go on a run after the All Star break just to tease us until late August when the bottom falls out again.

 You're banned for life.

I'm all in for Showalter. We need to fire Mickey and let Riggleman finish out the year if the front office thinks we have the talent to make a run at a wild-card spot.

Now go back to the Devil's Den you devil and get out of my house.

AA lefty David Peterson has a 4.37 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with 86 strikeouts in 78.1 innings (16 starts) this season including 7 shutout innings in his recent start. Those numbers are not very impressive.
