Now who do we get for a Vet Min contract to finish off the roster?

Post#1 » by Ernest » Mon Jul 1, 2019 7:12 pm

Looks like we will have 1 or 2 spots left to fill and no money to spend. So who do we get?

Maybe once a few names get thrown out there someone else can make a thread with a poll on it.

My thought is that we could probably still use another big. We could also probably use an older guy as the team is quite young. Given Kanter is our only proven big and he lacks on D, someone good at D would probably make sense if we go with a big. Maybe Noah or Chandler? If we end up with 2 spots I'd love to get Vince Carter for the mentoring and just overall fun it would be to have him end his long career here.

Rumors say we still have Larkin's rights. I'd take him over Waters, have Waters do 2 way. Tacko for spot 14 or another 2 way, he's got time to go to be able to see the court.

That leaves 1 spot, or 2 if Tacko goes 2 way. Theis is restricted and should be back with a raise.

I say another Big. Not sure on PF or C if we have 2 spots. I want 15th spot open in case we sign a buyout after deadline.

Cousins

Head case or whatever the case may be, the talent is undeniable.

Is he 100% healthy? I dont care he'd be better than 99% of todays bigs.

Siakam and Ibaka completely shut down his entire offensive game, even though he has 100lbs on them by the looks of it.

I only watch Celtics games, so I have no idea, but someone will give him more than the Vet Min right? Also, I wonder if there was some wink wink aspect to the Kanter deal that he gets to start.

Cousins, but he won't accept it.

I guess I'll go with either O'Quinn or Nene.

Noah Vonleh? I'd take a flyer on him if nobody offers him the MLE or Room Exception.

Henry Ellenson would be an interesting end of the bench gamble - can rebound, stretch the floor, but inexperienced, uneven, hasn’t been developed well - was a young rookie, just turned 22 in January.. a two-way deal could be an option with him..

Walker/smart/edwarfs
Brown/langford
Hayward/semi
Tatum/ thies/ williams
Kanter/timelord/yabu
The fall and waters fight it out for 14 and we sign another fake ass center or someone said vince carter I wanted him last year so there my pick is carter and fall to round the roster out for a very undrerwelming 7th seed . Buckle up because we ain't winning ****.

For the min, joakim noah would be a good get. He played well last year and could still give good effort for 15 minutes a game. With Kanter and Noah there will still be plenty of time for both Williams to play and contribute.

However, if Yabs and a pick could get Len or Sabonis the C's should go for that and not worry about a vet min big.

I'd definitely take him back. Could use a PF who can shoot the three.

I like him but I just don't see how he helps. He's a 4 like Tatum and Hayward can be a 4, meaning he's really a 3 who can play 4. If we get another big and have an extra spot, then yeah why not.

Side note, IT is gonna get another Vet Min contract right....?

I’m really doing my best not to bring up Dragan Bender, it takes some willpower

Listen for the vet min I love me some Dragan Bender, he is still really young only 21 Bigs need more time to develop. He is tall and can shoot a little bit. No for more then the min heck no, but hey why not take a flyer on a guy coming from a team who has had player development issues.

I would take Noah over Cousins, I said it, yea Noah over Cousins. Cousins is more talented but crazier and with our locker room he'd be much harder to control, I doubt he's taking the vet min, too and I also believe that unless he loses weight, he wont be nearly as good of a player as he used to be. Just take Noah if it doesn't work out you can waive him..
Good assessment:
