I wish we could go back to the 80s and 60s, when there were no super teams and the league had widespread parity.

Just when it look at like there’s some uncertainty in the NBA the Lakers would come and **** on that. No **** way please.
Do the right thing Kawhi.
Some people don't think it makes them the favorites
Count me in that camp. Can't have a championship roster with 4 competent guys on it
They will be good and might be able to win the title next year but I think there will be a lot hand wringing about how it is going to go along the way. I think that roster whoever is on it will struggle out of the gates.

In the very, hopefully, unlikely event Ainge trades Smart, I could see bringing Avery back. Otherwise, no.
Baylor is Brat.

Watched all the playoff games for them. He was ok, but didn't impress. He could defend the pick and roll better than the other bigs on the warriors. Ok, he was competing against Cousins and a 50 year old Bogut.

I mean I like AB but what does he bring to the Celtics that they don’t already have on the team. Nothing

Not really. But wouldn’t be a bad 3&D player off the bench I guess.

Theres going to be a long lockout soon. Sucks, but the system has broken
yup. So many super teams created by free agent super stars teaming up and leaving the small market teams to get wrecked. Something will change and the players won't like it.

Regular season is irrelevant they can load management their way to a 6 seed and smoke everyone in the playoffs...

In 2019 the Celtics need to give the minutes to Ojeleye and see if he can be a legit NBA player

Parity would come from having 10 less teams.
That's how you fix the problem.

That was disproved. Keep Cousins and his antics away from the Celtics. DMC is like a bucket of ****. If you walk away from it you are fine, if you interact with it, if you try to make it part of your environment you are going to get covered in ****.

Fills a void, but doesn't improve us and is a habitually-disruptive cancer. Anyone who would deal with that from a 3rd rate role player after last season is out of their minds. And with no other vets to keep him in line? Yeah, great call.
I have been a long time NO on Cousins but this is exactly the time I would buy. If there is no love out there for the guy and you can be the sheltered harbor sure I am in. As long as I can cut his ass if he goes crazy then sure I am in.
I don't see any pot of gold at the end of the rainbow on this. People have always overrated him, and there is a perception that he will somehow "return" to greatness. But it was never there. He reminds me of Kaepernick. Dangerous analogy in that Kaep involves a political element that he is obviously being blackballed for, but I mean strictly in terms of play.
You have a pouty primadonna who thinks he is a lot better than he is, because that was reinforced in his mind for a long time. But at the end of the day, he is whiny and mentally weak as a competitor, has lost his athleticism, and is highly unlikely to take an accurate stock of himself and just shut his mouth and do the team things that a role player should do. He will think he is the show, and be disruptive while he auditions for a bigger contract and a bigger role with another team.
It was a fine enough risk for the Ws because they had the vets to keep him in line and weren't married to him. We don't have any way to contain this dude, and the limited resources we have make the opportunity cost way too high.
People should accept that we are not a finished product that is contending this year, and wait for a shot at a big that actually moves the needle. The goal is to win a title, not finish in 5th place.
I view him more as a 5 mil flyer that stops him from joining the Lakers that we may have to cut mid season. As much as I have crushed on the guy as being a total a-hole I think he would like to be a good basketball player. Maybe Brad can tap into that for 6 months.

He is an undersized guard so he will fit right in.

I have no problem with "super teams" as such, I just hate seeing James keep getting free passes to third base while a bunch of teams are fumbling the ball in the outfield.

Don't think LBJ, Kawhi and Davis are a greeaat fit..but there is no way they don't win a championship if healthy. Like none. They will get guys like Rondo, Lance, McGee on vet min contracts to fill off the bench. I guarantee if Iggy gets bought out he goes there..Cousins probably signs..like people are in a big time denial phase at this point if they think LeBron would lose to anybody with those two around him. Only the basketball Gods and injuries can end them if they team up.
