If he leaves that would be pretty awkward...you just won a championship and finals mvp and you decide to leave
we would be back to lottery stage

Means they all know Kawhi is going to LA and they would have no cap space after that
If that were true Danny Green would have signed by now. He is still waiting on Kawhi.

Solidarity brother.
My wife has actually been bugging me every day for Kawhi updates. Won't be surprised if she signs up for an account soon.

Haha! Yeah, the Mrs. is going to suspect that I am having an affair. Constantly checking my phone, messages throughout the day (Twitter notifications) and me constantly typing. I told her that I am on Real GM chatting about Kawhi but it’s such an admittedly lame activity that she has her doubts that any grown man would really be doing this.
If Kawhi doesn’t decide soon, sources tell Woj she will divorce me.

I think Cousins is waiting on Kawhi too.

I wonder if he's using all this time to plan an elaborate announcement to say he's going to the Lakers.

I'm a bit surprised that after the last 72 hours, anyone can still have strong opinions about what is going to happen either way.

Re: Official Kawhi Watch Part 7: Speculation & Rumors
Well I am sure Masai had awesome pitch and with that Raptors did 1000% everything right.
That is all you can ask from your organization.
If that will not do it, at least we have piece of mind that we did not “lose” Kawhi. Simply it was impossible to have him longer.
But I still believe as our pitch should clear muddy waters LA teams and US media creating.
From the MARKETING perspective you tell Kahi that right now Raptors are trending worldwide and right now next year or two or as long as he is with Raptors, he is a world wide brand name and his time is now to cash on this (next year or two at least), THEN he can cash on LA/US market. You can say that you are talking with NBA to have Raptors opening game in Bejing or Tokyo, or both first two games back to back with GSW for example. And there is a country with almost 40mill people, cash on these marketing opportunities now as LA opportunities will be there later bur Canadian wont and Worldwide might not. So there is no incentive to rush to LA marketing wise, not to mention in2 years when LBJ is 38 Kawhi can come to LA and big king of marketing. If he joins now he will NOT. (i didnt even mention Drake can secure him a lot of deals or $$)
From the WINING perspective, of course there are no guarantees Raptors would come out of east but there are no Lakers could come of the like never LOADED west. (With Clippers he is not wining with that team). East is not stronger this year, everybody got a bit weaker even 76ers.on paper they look better but when they have to play 6-7games against the same team its different..they lost shooting spacing and closer in Butler who can score lats 2min in the game. Raptors with healthy OG are better and more experienced more calm than last year, still a favourite to come out of the east with you Kawhi. And you had such a fun last season like never before by your own words.
From the HEALTH perspective, Kawhi already knows Raptors will keep their word and KEEP HIM AS HEALTHY AS POSSIBLE.
No matter what LA teams promise they might mot be able (even if wiling) to do that, and If AD or LBJ go down he cant have load management20-25games ot they might miss play off with thin bench.
Raptors can again go like 15-7 at least without Kawhi and finish top 4. And by doing that another year or two Raptors medical staff alone cab extend his career into his late 30es.
From the WEALTH/MONEY perspective, wether is 5yrs/191mill or 2yrs (1+1 or 2+1) 75/mill+supermax after that like 240mill...
Whichever it is BY FAR its the most money resigning with Toronto short term or long term.
If Kawhi passes on this kinda pitch..nothing more we can do.
We move on. People make bad or not so great choices

Re: Official Kawhi Watch Part 7: Speculation & Rumors
I am surprised it is taking this long.
Leonard is probably torn between going home to L.A. or staying where he won it all and is beloved. If he goes back to L.A., he is just another L.A. player but if he stays in Toronto, The Raptors Fans will love him forever.
I'm rooting for Toronto here and hope this works out as I kind of want a rematch in next year's playoffs against The Champs.
Good Luck!

A quick decision is a slap in the face for the team that loses out, a longer drawn out one has the optics of "well I had a really tough decision to make"

There was one poster who said something like "I'm getting married soon so I'll have a life and won't be so invested in the Raps".

To be honest, I think the deciding factor is going to be what Masai has said his plans are for improving the team this coming season but most importantly the season after and how confident Kawhi is in that plan.

I was a little worried Danny said he may not wait but I got over that, Dallas could be putting pressure on him and this buys him some more time.
But there is noooo wayyyy the entire FA class knows his decision lmao.
