Again, you prove that you dont read, or you dont want to read correctly. The dude started bball at 17, had a very very uncommon way to start bball, played for Paris, then Spain, now NBA ! Even in France it took us time to see something in his potential.
But in my point i was more talking in general how americans, not the NBA, think about bball players who never played in the NBA or even G-League, arent better than some NBA or G-League players.

Have you ever watched Euro basketball, euroleague, ... ? G-League is the WORST type of bball, so of course a type of player like Poirier who's unselfish isnt going to perform like Trier, or Izo player like US produces very well.
In bball you need a diff variety of player in the same team to build a successfull path, where do you see unselfish players in the G-League or in the **** NBA teams where organized bball is not here ??
And i dont think Americans are idiots, I think Americans are brain washed with the type of bball they value (izo, AAU type of bball, no fundamentals as a team player, ....)

He can catch and dunk, but can he hit the wing for the corner 3 when the help defender comes over? He does seem to have the agility and hops to still score if help does come though.
Baynes was known being a smart and tough Defender. Hope this guy is at least above all the current Cs that we have. Not a high bar to beat.

He looks springy and quick and to be a good rebounder. Looks like a good mid range shot. I too wonder about the little things that Baynes was good at like you said, moving the ball, picks, team D. A few defensive highlights I have seen, mostly blocks. He does appear to be capable of defending the rim to some extent

He played at a high level in Yurp and excelled. I am cautiously optimistic but can’t expect much more than a decent rotation guy though.

If only Brad had any kind of fouling strategy. Aside from Hack-a-Shaq, I don't think he ever uses fouls as a strategic tool. He's even said as much. Doesn't go at players in foul trouble, and doesn't attack the paint when team's are in the bonus. He also leaves our own guys in games with foul trouble.

We have played 2 bigs before. I know Horford can shoot and was ok at defending 4's, although he was slowing down at the end there, so even though most except Theis don't shoot, I can see some games where we play Kanter at the 4 with Williams/VP at the 5.

We can still spread the floor with our wings and PG, run the 2 man pick an roll with kanter, Williams can dive. Either our bigs dunk or our wings shoot 3's. So tired of the "we only know how to shoot 3's" big man approach. It's ok for some teams, but overall it doesn't keep defense honest.

Yep, I love that the bigs all seem to all be able to pick, roll to the rim and rebound. I have no doubt Brad will have them on the Baynes/Sully plan and they'll launch a few 3s with impunity, but it's not their primary job description.

We really seem to be trying to apply a lot more rim pressure this year, especially with Kemba and our bigs. Soften up the defenses, get to the line more. Well be better this year just by aggressively attacking the rim instead of launching soft threes.

Lol Al hasn't been a post threat in years. He's strictly a jump shooter offensively at this point unless he gets a clear path to the basket and a running start from half-court.
