He’s as quick as Reddish, Barrett, and Williamson. SF agility.

Obviously strength is an issue.

Very skilled.

The more I watch, he has the physical gifts and skill set foundation to be a game changer.

He can defend 3 positions now.
He should be in the weight room with Monk.

If he’s stronger he’s an option at SG/SF this season.

What about the lives of the two young women that were ruined? Their attempted suicides as a result of the slut shaming they were battered with and the "shhhh, you can't say anything because he's a high profile high school athlete" wall they ran into?

Go look at the scars on the inner forearm of one of the girls from her slicing herself from wrist to inner elbow.

Then read how McDaniels treated the mediation with utter contempt.

Are you seriously making McDaniels our to be the victim in this?

I find that utterly disgusting.

There are only two originating reprehensible acts here, and everything after is a result of those two reprehensible acts.

We have law enforcement and a legal system for this. This is not Fowler's or anybody else's business but the parties involved. **** anybody that tries to convict a stranger in the court of public opinion, that is my point. None of us were there, none of us know these people. If the Hornets feel like they did enough research to give McDaniels a chance, that's their business. Just like if you only want to root for a team full of high character choir boys, that's your business. McDaniels isn't even charged with a crime and people like Fowler want to treat him like a convicted felon and deny him career opportunity. Those girls made the mistake of engaging in sex acts and they handled the negative consequences very poorly. That's very unfortunate but McDaniels isn't directly responsible for their behavior ex post facto. If I get cut off in traffic and it makes me so angry that I punch the steering wheel and break my hand, my injury is nobody's fault but my own. The guy that cut me off shouldn't get a bigger fine just because I handled it poorly.

I've sat here for a moment thinking of the best way to respond to this naive, misogynistic, narrow minded, insensitive, offensive, ignorant (in the uneducated way - not the unknowing way) and just plain wrong post but then I remembered the best way to silence an idiot.......

If you infer any of that from anything I've posted you are clearly blinded by too much emotion to look at this objectively. I'm sorry this subject is so personal for you and I'll desist from discussing it further. I advise you to do the same because nothing good will come of it if you can't discuss it without immediately resulting to insults. Be well.

so with both Martin twins on board that leaves one roster spot and one 2 Way contract

what's it gonna be for McDaniels?

Don’t know if he’d sign the 2-way but that’s what he needs. Mitch likes to keep 1 spot open for flexibility/options.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

How does that work? Can he sign with a different G league team?

Technically I believe the answer is yes. However, they'll almost certainly have him sign an Exhibit 10 that will bind him to Greensboro after being cut from the Summer roster. As a G-League player, the Swarm would hold his rights and could trade him theoretically; but I doubt the parent team would be on board.

The classic example is Josh Huestis, whom the Thunder actually drafted in the first round after he agreed to be stashed in an effort to conserve cap room. He played a year for the OKC Blue before moving up to the Thunder.

Spending a second-round pick on a guy with so much baggage when we could've taken a flier on a center.

Fair question. I see it more as a flier on him, I think he was probably worth 56 or whatever pick we used on him to see if the character questions could be cleared out and there enough talent there.

I kinda get that and I don't suggest making moves to adjust the front office's awful reputation, but this decision didn't twist the narrative that they're incompetent and don't properly vet personnel.

Our front office's shortcomings aside, it is ludicrous to think they didn't know about his baggage ahead of time. Clearly they found him worth the risk at 56.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's an NBA player, and if he is he's years off. But it's also not my job to scout and draft NBA talents so... guess we shall see like always.

If he can add mass McDaniels is an NBA player. That's a big question mark though considering his frame. His brother is a top recruit in next year's class and he has the exact same measurables combined with a skinny frame.

I think he has more potential as his brother who is a projected lottery pick. He did look MUCH better in his last summer league game. Maybe I will watch that game again to make sure I wasn't seeing things
