Someone I'm related to plays for them. He said they don't have development plans...structure. Hardly surprised..Jamaaliver wrote:jayu70 wrote:Indy's draft was puzzling, the Suns were Sunning.
Man...the Suns moves were so bad.
Like...DAMN!!!
They passed on Jalen brunson last year.
Coby White This year.
Then drafted a guy most had coming off the board in the early 20s...at #11.
Just, so awful.
I actually do feel bad for there fanbase.

But how about IND adding Goganani to Turner and Sabonis when they had some clear other needs? Yikes.
And how about a certain team, presumably, putting Ball, Zion and that Hayes kid in the same starting lineup? The shooting ... the horror. Rims everywhere are bracing for impact.
I disagree about the Pels. It doesn't matter how you shoot when you are running a layup/dunking line all game. Pels are gonna get out and run, Lonzo is going to be lead the league in passes over 50 feet.
C'mon man. When it matters, NBA defenses are able to choke off any offense that's predicated on having to constantly get to the rim. Not even Lebron can consistently succeed off that. I'm not giving Lonzo/Jrue/etc. the benefit of the doubt that they can do it.
Super true story.

Who should the Hawks draft in 2020?
Rayshaun Hammonds could be a good pick up at #19. Good IQ, good shooter, combo SF/PF, always seems to play under control

You must have seen a different Hammonds then I have. The one that played for UGA the last two seasons won’t be drafted unless something drastically changes the upcoming season. Not saying it won’t but it’s a big leap.

Way too soon to tell at his point.

Re: 2019 NBA Draft Prep Part 2
A surprisingly complimentary piece by the NY Post on Nic Claxton.
NY PostMeet Nic Claxton: Another Nets NBA draft steal in the making
Nets GM Sean Marks saw projected first-rounder Nic Claxton of Georgia fall to them to open the second round.
I feel like God, he has a way of just making everything right,” Claxton said. “So when I heard my name called the 31st pick, I was blessed and I was happy. I’m really emotional, so you were able to just see it in my face. I was just happy. I’m still happy and I’m ready to get to work.”
Hard work has gotten Claxton to this point — along with a huge growth spurt. He grew up as a point guard and sprouted from 6-foot as an eighth grader to 6-foot-7 as a high school sophomore.
It’s well-documented the growth spurt he had, and the fact he was a point guard and handled the ball at a young age, so he has those skills … and he hasn’t lost that ball-handling ability. So when you get a guy that I have to look up to that can handle the ball like a point guard, that’s intriguing,” said Marks, who stands 6-10 himself.

This was my biggest issue with moving up to get him. I get it from the base of talent and being three prong but he has more flaws than Luka had as a three prong prospect.
People always mistake being a good cutter with being good off the ball. I will give him one benefit. NY didn't have good personnel fit for R.J. but they got some serious work to do

Re: 2019 NBA Draft Prep Part 2
Bleacher ReportNBA Rookies Who Could Shock Us This Season
Carsen Edwards, Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics replaced Kyrie Irving with Kemba Walker in free agency, but they didn't need to sign another guard when Terry Rozier left for the Charlotte Hornets. General manager Danny Ainge and head coach Brad Stevens presumably feel confident calling on Carsen Edwards as an additional source of offense off the bench.
He only strengthened his case for immediate minutes during summer league when he averaged 19.4 points on 21-of-45 shooting from three.
Edwards' limitations are clear, as he won't offer much playmaking or driving and slashing to put pressure on rim protectors. But moving from Purdue to the NBA shouldn't hinder his perimeter effectiveness.
Only three players in the country averaged more jump-shot makes than Edwards last year. He hit 135 threes through 36 contests and ranked fifth in pull-up points per game. Able to catch fire, as evidenced by his 34.8 points and 7.0 threes per game during the NCAA tournament, the 21-year-old guard will step into a fitting role for his streak-scoring ability.
A 2019 postseason star, Edwards will be one of the few rookies capable of making an impact in the 2020 playoffs.
