Lol. How the hell does anyone consider LeBron as the top guy in the NBA? What's the barometer??

The assumption is for next hear. This is the most rest Lebron has ever had, it's not crazy to assume lebron is going to go on a tear.

I have the same reaction to the Giannis votes, and he has even more than LeBron. It’s like no one saw his lack of any plan B (in addition to lack of shooting) in their one non-regular-season series against a good team.

Even more inexplicable (I guess, actually, poor reading comprehension is the explanation) are the 11 people who voted that KD will be the best player in the 2019-20 season in which he is unlikely to play at all. Partly the OP’s fault for including him nonsensically, perhaps.

He had the most rest because he wasn't impactful enough to make the playoffs out West.

But I guess. I think he needs to switch up his playing style more than he needs rest.

Lebron will be 35 next year. Has any player been the best player in the NBA at 35? I don’t even think Lebron will be the best player on his own team.

I don't want to be annoying and start a new thread just to say this but I just need to get this out, some of you are seriously over-rating Kawhi. This reminds me of the period in time when some of you were claiming Deron Williams was better than Chris Paul. Now it just seems silly and it Is clear that Deron is not even close to Chris Paul. This is more debatable but there was a time when some of you were claiming that Dwayne Wade was the superior player to Lebron James and that the Heat should trade James, now it's obvious that the idea is ridiculous.

Well in similar fashion for you guys to have Kawhi over Giannis is equally absurd. I just wanted to post this here and I'm saving this thread. Hopefully those of you participating in the over-rating (if I'm correct) will learn to not put so much value on single post season run and also to have some context (that at Gianni's age for him to carry that team of role players to the best record in the league clearly places him as the heir apparent to being the next face of the league.

BTW, I've been wrong before . . . I though Dwight Howard was a sure fire face of the league caliber player but I am usually correct and I like to read my old posts to see where I was right and wrong and I'm correct more often than not.

MJ 1998 (turned 35 in February that year) league mvp, allstar mvp, finals mvp, led in scoring, all nba first team and defensive 1st team.

MJ was 34 for most of the 1998 season. Basketball-reference.com lists Jordan at 34 for 1998 and Lebron at 34 for 2019. Also according to basketball-reference.com:

Wilt was 35 in 1972, when Kareem was the best player in the league.
Jerry West and Oscar Robertson were 35 in 1974, when Kareem was the best player in the league.
Kareem was 35 in 1983, when Moses Malone was the best player in the league.
Moses Malone was 35 in 1991, when Jordan was the best player in the league.
Larry Bird was 35 in 1992, when Jordan was the best player in the league.
Hakeem was 35 in 1998, when Jordan was the best player in the league.
Tim Duncan was 35 in 2012, when Lebron was the best player in the league.
Dirk was 35 in 2014, when Lebron was the best player in the league.

I don't know who the best player was in 2008, but it wasn't a 35 year old Shaq.
Kobe only played 6 games the season he was 35.
Dwayne Wade was 35 the year he played on the Bulls.
Magic Johnson and Bill Russell were retired when they were 35.

I think it's crazy to expect a 35 year old to be the best player in the league.
