DLO trade thread

Post#1 » by cdubbz » Wed Jul 10, 2019 5:28 am

I'm super happy we got DLo in KDs departure -- under 25 SG all star that scored 20+ PPG and can shoot and create his own shot. I really do want to keep DLO this year and future but a lot of talk is about flipping DLO.

This is a thread of flipping DLO. What are some DLO trades out there?

DLO For Andre Drummond
DLO for Demar Derozan
DLO for Bradley Beal

Bradley Beal is legit better than the other two combined, that's a real whack range of value.

None of the above . if we trade him i would prefer a wing.

DD and Beal are sgs, we got that cover when klay will return.

DLo for Aaron Gordon and Terrance Ross.

Orlando gets their pg of the future. Aaron Gordon goes home. Aaron Gordon and scraps does nothing for me. Gotta add Ross.

Our sf position would be deep.

Imagine our roster next year looking like:

Steph/Evans
Klay/Poole
Aaron Gordon/Terrence Ross
Green/Paschall
Looney/Smailagic

Add whatever rookies we draft. Sign a guard who's an impact player with the MLE, etc. Round out with vets on the minimum especially a center if WCS doesn't return. That's a championship team there.

Beal is out of the question

we're looking at

DLo for Aaron Gordon and change

DLo for Sekou/Kennard/Jackson

DLo for Winslow/Dragic

something like that

Why do you think Orlando would not be willing to throw in Terrance Ross?

All these trades are underwhelming, I prefer to keep DLo.

He's gonna have his chance to impress the hell out of everybody this year. If it doesn't look like it's working, he either becomes a trade piece or the most expensive backup pg in the league. Our backcourt will be lit though.

I wish he was eligible to be traded right now. His value is very high at the moment.

Absolutely. See how he goes next to Steph Curry and Draymond Green, which probably constitutes his own plan.

I hope Russell delivers and we have reason to keep him. That's the easiest way for us with the greatest chance of competing now and in the future. I'll think about trade if it doesn't click. Before that, I'll root for him to stay here long-term.

Hell no to Demar Derozan. He is the anti-Warrior. Shoots mid-range shots instead of threes. And his advanced stats are bad.

Said it other DLO thread in the midst of the attempted Curry troll job but I think Pelicans and targeting Jrue Holiday would be good. He can play either guard since he can shoot and handle and he can defend most wings. They have Lonzo and a young core so he’s expendable and DLO would be a better fit with the younger core and Gentry. Could maybe even get a wing (doubt Ingram unless they don’t want to pay him) from them or involve a third team.

I believe the Warriors will have a lot of success with D-Lo.

Steph Curry needs to have another ballhandler/scorer next to him to allow him to successfully play off-ball and help take the load off of him. And when Klay gets back, it'll be even more deadly having D-Lo handling the ball with Steph and Klay off-ball getting wide open shots and D-Lo himself is a scoring threat who can break down a defense.

With that said, if the Warriors trade D-Lo I don't think it'll be because of a failure--I'm confident he'll maximize his potential here--it'll most likely be because they found someone available who's an even better fit for the team.

Kinda sucks he has this hanging over his head.

Even he seems to know he’s a rent-a-player.

Yeah, D'lo seems like the perfect guard next to Steph in that he has PG skills but SG size. As long as he can drain catch and shoot threes at a high rate he's perfect. Klay is the perfect complement to our guards as well. Curry/D'lo/Klay/Dray/WCS will be the highest scoring starting 5 in the playoffs.

This was proclaimed by the media when the signing was announced because they couldn't imagine Klay as a SF. That doesn't mean the FO agrees.

It’s in his face 24/7 though and even his response kind of acknowledges the possibility. Obviously we don’t know what the internal conversations have been but at face value it’s out there lingering in the background like KD’s FA was last season.
