Memphis trade - (Iggy, Howard) 22.7m

Clippers trade - (Harkless, Robinson, MaM) 18.8m

4m cap space, 11m TPE, young SF & SG for 2 players that were expected to be bought out.

However if I'm close with this deal Memphis will still need a consolidation of forwards.

For max cap space in 2020, Minnesota would need to shed roughly 10-11m.

How about one of these Iggy moves

Iggy and Rabb to PHX for Tyler Johnson

Iggy gives them vet presence and defense. Rabb gets new opportunity on a new team

Johnson can either contribute on offense both on the perimeter and in transition.

Trade #2

Iggy and Rabb to Blazers for K. Bazemore

Iggy and Rabb: same as above

Bazemore can swing between SG and SF positions. Transition player and slasher. decent shooter and passer

We would need some sort of incentive in return. Otherwise we can just buy Iggy out and let him choose who he wants to play for. I think Lee+2nd for Iggy is a decent baseline. Cap savings and a 2nd is a decent return for a guy we were paid a 1st and $2m cash to eat ha.

Mavs have 14m cap space. Why not trade for J. Jackson & net a 13.9m trade exception?.

Both Minnesota & Heat are looking to shed around 10m, is there nothing available there?.

If Memphis like Courtney as a scoring option expand the deal to Iggy & Anderson (26m) for J. Jackson & Courtney Lee (16m) = 10m TPE. 2 SF's for 1.

Heat are supposedly trading just expiring/s & contracts they don't want for Westbrook. They're refusing to include either Bam or Herro which are their only 2 main assets, as OKC already own their picks. So making the Heat better should not be in OKC's interest.

Trade 1

Memphis trade - (Iggy 17m, Anderson 9m, Plumlee 12.5m) 38.7m to Houston for (Capela 14.8m, Gordon 14m, Tucker 8.5m ) 37.3m

OKC trade - (Westbrook, Adams) 64.3m to Houston for (Plumlee, Anderson, Paul, FRP) 60.1m

Houston trade - (Paul 38.5m, Capela 14m, Gordon 14m, Tucker 8m, FRP) for (Westbrook 38.5m, Adams 25.8m, Iggy 17.1m)

- Anderson netted from Grizz gives Houston a young controlled player to offer OKC.
- Plumlee instead of Capela is a 12m expiring to help knock Adams contract off their books, temporary fill at C.
- OKC is 2.5m in the luxury tax, the 4m trade difference takes them out the luxury tax
- Houston offers up a FRP for value compensation.
- Swapping Paul's salary, knocks a year off Westbrook's, OKC can play SGA at SG next to Paul.
- Iggy goes to a contender where he'd seem content.
- The league should like this as it would add a 3rd Western conference team into the contention mix. -(Adams. Iggy, Harden, WB)

Trade 2

Memphis trade - (Gordon 14m) to Cavs for (JR. Smith 15.7m) sheds 10m

Trade 3

Memphis trade - (Capela 14.9m) into Kings cap space for (14.9m TPE) sheds 14.9m

- Cavs were rumored to be offering Smith for a Veteran that could help them win (Hayward) they net (Gordon)
- Kings would reportedly take Capela into space but Houston wanted a pick, which they didn't want to give up. Memphis give up Iggy to trade Capela into space.

Essentially Memphis trade Iggy, Anderson, Plumlee for PJ. Tucker & to shed 25m in helping Houston alter their core group around Harden. This could give Memphis 19m cap space.

Trade 4

Memphis trade (Tucker 8.5m, Crowder 7.8m, Brooks 1.6m, 14m cap space) 18m to Minnesota for (Wiggins 27m, Culver 5.8m) 32.8m

Leaving 5m cap space - resign Noah, buyout Howard.

Jonas / Noah / Rabb
3J / Clarke / Bruno
Wiggins / Culver
Jackson / Allen
Ja / Jones / Melton

Ross
@LegionHoopsRoss

The first two teams to engage Oklahoma City on a Russell Westbrook trade?

The Pistons and Timberwolves, per source.

Detroit, the most aggressive.

https://dunkingwithwolves.com/2019/07/11/russell-westbrook-timberwolves-need/

Their suggested trade - OKC trade - (Westbrook) for (Wiggins, Teague, Ntikila, Min 2021 FRP)

If OKC don't want Wiggins & Minnesota need a 3rd party.

Memphis trade - (Plumlee, Crowder, Anderson, Brooks) for (Wiggins, Culver)

OKC trade - (Westbrook) for (Plumlee, Crowder, Teague, Anderson) - a young 3&D wing player over another PG & 28m expiring.

Minnesota trade - (Wiggins, Teague, Culver) for (Westbrook, Brooks)

Dallas decided to act as an over-the-cap team in order to keep their TPE and carry it into the season. The TPE isn't big enough to take in Iggy so we will have to include Lee to make the finances work.

Barnes TPE is 21.2m.

Iggy at 17m > Lee at 12

If they don't want to absorb Iggy's contract, tell Dallas to pound sand. They have 2 options, take Iggy into their TPE or he will be bought out for LA.

They already took Wright into that TPE so only like 12m is left.

Any chance they would take Howard into that TPE as a package deal ?.

Lee for Iggy - 5m
TPE for Howard - 5m

Maybe if Memphis don't mind giving up some player value get them to take one of Anderson or Crowder into the remaining TPE ?.

TPE for Anderson - 9m
Lee for Iggy - 5m

This would create roughly 8m cap space, Buyout Howard. if Memphis think they could line something up with a few teams still looking to dump salary, rumored around 10m for (Heat/Minnesota/OKC).

It depends on Dallas, but I would think that you'd have to give up a better player than Howard to make the deal work due to how valuable cap space is this offseason. If you are parting with Crowder or Anderson plus Iggy, you'd want to make sure you have a salary dump type deal lined up that is worth it. It feels like the FO likes Anderson and Crowder as vets to put around our young guys so will value them highly though they are far from untouchable. Crowder can then potentially be flipped to a desperate playoff team at the deadline. That said, your premise makes sense and is very plausible if a team needs to dump bad salary.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst during an appearance on “SportsCenter,”

the Houston Rockets are trying to organize a three-team trade to acquire Westbrook, a move that would reunite him with former Thunder teammate James Harden. Meanwhile, Windhorst also reports that Westbrook has given Oklahoma City a list of preferred destinations, with the Miami Heat being the top name on that list.

In the case of the incentive, you mean more future picks ranging between one to let's say three years into the future types?

The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to trade Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets for Chris Paul, first-round picks in 2024 and 2026, pick swaps in 2021 and 2025, league sources tell ESPN.

Pretty much though I'd take any picks no matter how far out they are right now. Ideally they'd be in the next few years so that we can use them to help draft young talent but future picks can be used in trades so are still valuable. I don't expect to get much for Iggy, but a 2nd or two is still better than nothing especially if we throw in a prospect via Rabb.

Both WB and Harden will be fighting for the ball. Although they are good friends, they both will be putting their egos and the Rockets franchise to the test. Essentially this could be the prequel of "Grumpy Old Men" This time, the movie will be call : Grumpy Young Men" starring James Harden and Russell Westbrook. Coming to theaters in October. Look for the trailers of the movie in September.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Thunder will likely remain active on the trade front, as they could try to find a taker for Paul.

However, trading Paul will be easier said than done for the Thunder. The veteran playmaker still has three years left on his contract worth $124 million. Woj said that in order to find a taker for Paul’s massive contract, the Thunder might actually need to include some of the picks that they acquired in recent deals.

https://clutchpoints.com/thunder-news-oklahoma-city-could-work-to-find-trade-deal-for-chris-paul/

The only 2 teams I could think make sense for Paul would either be Heat or Minnesota.

Think this would be a good opportunity for Minnesota to dump some combination or all of Wiggins/Teague/Dieng & net Paul. Without having to give up any compensation, which would be coming from OKC.

Memphis take on Wiggins land FRP/s from OKC, so they could shed Pauls contract.
