It’s become too quiet. It’s going to be something out of left field like RW to the Raptors.

Best fit in my opinion is still Detroit or Orlando

That's a good thing. Usually the Pistons move in silence.

I still stand by my guarantee about Westbrook coming to Detroit! I'm rarely wrong.

Hearing the Thunder want financial relief in the deal and the Heat can't give it - I don't think the Pistons can either.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Both could get a third team involved.

Third team wants something for it. Which team adds the sweetener for that cap space? OKC is about $3M over the tax - and they they get 30M in expirings. That is enough financial relief on their end. Presti might be drunk off his Paul George haul.

Doesn't take draft picks into account but works...

I would take Olnyk before I took Lenard.

Vince Ellis has reported that the Pistons internally are “lukewarm” to adding Westbrook. Sounds like we won’t be breaking the bank after all.

Vince Doesn’t know anything. He was against the trade at the start so he’s swinging the narrative his way to look more credible if it falls through.

Saves them big bucks this year. And obviously next year. Puts us into luxury tax. The Reggie and Andre show is officially over
Brings two of his buddies to Detroit with him.

This one gets OKC under the tax this year. Saves them going forward obviously. Keeps Gores favorite rebounder Drummond lol. We dont give up any youth. Boom

They probably saw his contract and what OKC's demand was and thought hell no. Which is...surprisingly smart?

Assuming Blake opts in or he gets tired of Michigan, maybe we can swing for a nice trade or S&T down the line once all of our bloat is off and we can refill with a young talent if they're available. A lot can change in two years time.

Pistons probably would have been receptive to a deal involving our shorter contracts and a pick, maybe two.

The Thunder are probably looking for a much better deal than that, and if the reporting is true the Pistons wisely backed down.

I wouldn't have been interested in him even in the sort of deal the Pistons were likely looking into, but its good to know they probably weren't prepared to go crazy with it.

All true points. But surprisingly, I don't see them moving 1st round picks, this team since Stefanski took over hasn't really done it that way yet. Yes, for the 30th we moved it, but that was a weird gamble in a really weird draft. They've been surprisingly future friendly as of late.

And if the reports are true that we are indeed lukewarm and basically all but out of the running, then it's likely a good thing. I really wasn't prepared to read Westbrook arguments, since he'd be the biggest enigma since Josh Smith in these forums should a trade go through.

Vince Ellis and Rod Beard don’t know anything. If you would have asked them about the Blake trade five minutes before it happened, their ‘sources’ would have said ‘no truth, pistons have no interest’.

Here’s an article of Vince Ellis’s that he just tweeted saying it included “new intel” regarding Russ. If this is true it makes me very happy. Who would’ve thought the Pistons would actually start having some consideration of the future?

according to multiple persons familiar with the Pistons front office’s thinking

Thanks Vince. My friend’s cousin’s boyfriend’s step mom says we’re trading for Lebron.

We could also be waiting to agree to a trade involving snell. Maybe with 20 days left until it can become official rather than 45

Wasn't Ellis completely against it at first? So if he's reporting a "lukewarm" story maybe there is a sense Pistons could be a legit possibility and he's transitioning to being in support

If anyone wants proof as to why players hate the media, listen the Lowe’s podcast. The dude clearly is hurt about how Russ treated him and it really shows. I’m now really curious what Russ’s true value is around the league since we’re not going to get unbiased takes.

When did Russ treat Lowe bad? I don't even think they even had a interview before since Russ doesn't talk at all to media.

Lowe also put Russ on 3rd team all NBA, he's not biased. He's just realistic with in regards to his playstyle and contract.
