Anyone here watching the HRD? I'm rooting for Alonso!

...and a "tired Vlad Guerrero Jr." hits 22.

Might have picked the worst pitcher I've ever seen, he's barely allowed Alonso to get in a groove once.

Agreed and he STILL won! Yes, I'm gonna ignore that Vlad hit 69 homers in his first two rounds!

More and more rumors suggesting Thor could be moved by the deadline. Would be a major mistake and I have no confidence BVW won't get raped again.

we shall see I have no confidence Thor ever truly breaks out...how does a guy throw that hard and not get enough swing and misses.

I would actually trade Thor for a good haul and then try to resign Wheeler on a discount because he's having a so so year and with his injury history he might be willing to luck in guaranteed $$$.

Tear this **** down. We got a good farm system even after losing Kelenic.

I think Noah being moved is our only big play. If we can retain Wheeler for 15/year I'd rather just sign him for 3/45 or something. If not, I'd sell it all tbh.

Build around position players for once. We clearly don't know how to build around pitchers...we've had one of the best rotations in the league and have never prioritized speed and defense. It's mind-boggling.

C -
1B - Alonso
2B - Mcneil
SS - Rosario or Gimenez
3B -
LF - Smith
CF -
RF - Conforto

Fill out the rest of the holes and we should have a good offense. I'd be okay with flipping Nimmo, Rosario as well. Nimmo's great but we can't have another corner OF.

he has only publicly said he wants to be a met even at the last deadline when rumors swirled. If that is just window dressing then don't sign him. Team needs a major overhaul anyway but you aren't going to get anything other than OK prospect(s) for wheeler.

Thor is where we could actually get some changing the franchise prospects.

Than wouldn't it make more sense to move DeGrom? Moving Thor for prospects only extends the timeline for building a playoff contender and probably puts us outside of DeGroms prime.

BVW made quite a mess acquiring Cano and signing Lowrie. Add in the fact they front loaded Familia's contract; we'll be paying those three $45 million next year. Fortunately I think Ramos's bat is still good enough for an AL team to take a flyer on.

To me, priority number one is to get McNeil back to 2nd base. How that's done, I have no idea.

I agree with this 100%.

BVW made quite a mess acquiring Cano and signing Lowrie. Add in the fact they front loaded Familia's contract; we'll be paying those three $45 million next year. Fortunately I think Ramos's bat is still good enough for an AL team to take a flyer on.

I don't hold the Familia deal against him. While even at his best Familia was never the second coming of Mariano Rivera no one could have anticipated just how terrible he would be. Everything else you said is spot on. The Lowrie signing would have made sense if Cano wasn't brought in. The Cano addition never made any darn sense.

To me, priority number one is to get McNeil back to 2nd base. How that's done, I have no idea.

The only way I see it happening is if you replicate the deal that brought him to the Mets in the first place. Package his turd of a contract with an attractive asset and take back some lesser salary ballast in the process. Something like Thor and Cano to Boston for Nathan Eovaldi and prospects.
Why rely on nuance, facts and logic when you can bludgeon the other side with mindless repetition of "Duuur McDaniel's has potential :tooth and still be treated as if you were reasonable.

We’re only 6 games back in the WC standings. As strange as this is to say, with a 5 game win streak we’re right in this thing.

Return to New York Knicks
