Kyrie, Harris, Prince are really good.

Chandler and Temple are streaky but can knock down open shots.

The team has to bank on improvement from LeVert, Dinwiddie, Rodi who hovered around 32% but appear to have much higher ceilings than that.

I wouldn't be mad at another shooter but I think we're missing a strong 4 that can play smallball 5. Last year, Kenny could go to Dudley and RHJ at 5 if we wanted to spread the floor out and speed up the game. Now the only option is Rodi who's way too weak.

with Deandre i think we will go small at the 5 more... kenny now has 2 guys who can play pick and roll he will want that out there. id be ok with an RHJ type as the 14th or 15th man though.

i do disagree about shooters. we saw how ugly it was when Harris was out last year. id be all over a korver or morrow signing and had really hoped we'd have signed ellington

I'm less worried about the shooting with Kyrie on the team. He can run off screens and play the Harris role on offense better than anyone but Harris. Last year, the only option when Harris was out was Crabbe - who was usually injured or off his game. Russell could shoot but he's more of a spot up/off the dribble guy - not a motion/off screen guy. Kyrie can do it all offensively. Prince can help fill that gap too.
Prince is more a corner three guy. You're not going to have him taking that three off curl at top of key like Crabbe or Joe.

Good point on Kyrie though, but you will shift playmaking to Caris/Spencer if that happens

Prince is deadly from the right corner but he is still 34% from the wings and the top of the key:

Obviously were beyond ecstatic to get KD and Kyrie, if the rumors are true, then Spencer did do Russell dirty.

Not really surprising. DLo and Din never really got along that well on or off the court. DLo was real close with RHJ and LeVert.
(Now that I think about it, who's gonna be LeVert's "guy" in the locker room? KD?)

Part of me thinks Din thought he's just as good as DLo and Kenny played him so many mins in crunch time, I don't blame him for thinking that.

If the rumors of Din basically recruiting Kyrie(probably wayyy overblown) to replace Dlo, I'd be mad/salty too. Might even be worth a block.

With news coming out that Kawhi's contract is basically two years guaranteed and the third an opt out, it makes me wonder based on rumors of him recruiting KD that he may actually come to Brooklyn in two years. Years ago, it sounded like a pipe dream but now we are that "destination" team so to speak players want to come to. We are that market players will be looking for when deciding where to play. It certainly is an exciting time to be a Net fan.

Not sure we need shooters as badly as some here believe. We've still retained Joe Harris, who is our most important one, but we've also added Kyrie in place of D Lo, who is a more efficient 3pt shooter than D Lo (although on lower volume). Prince has shot the 3 better than Crabbe or Carroll in the last couple seasons, especially Carroll. I'd say that Temple and Chandler are both better shooters than the guys they're replacing (Graham and Dudley).

I'd also hope that the Dinwiddie and Levert shoot the 3 better next season. With Dinwiddie, his 3pt efficiency dipped after his injury, so hopefully we're looking at 35% or above from him next year. Obviously, you can never have enough shooters, but I don't think we're worse off than we were this year. I think Crabbe is the biggest loss as a shooter, because even if his 3pt % wasn't that great, he still attracted the kind of attention that a 3pt specialist does. But he wasn't a big factor for us this year, so we should be fine.

We have no joe harris insurance. if he goes down our offense is going to take a big hit. its also less about how good of a shooter and more about how many competant shooters. with crabbe and harris if one was hurt you still had that sniper.

Things change in two years, never said it will happen but anything can most certainly happen. And if when the contracts of KD and Kyrie are up, at that point rebuilding via draft will probably be our best asset along with other young talent, but of course this is another three-four years from now. I will sit back and enjoy this team compete for a championship in this three year window.

Relax guys, I know freak injuries can happen

I'm just making a point that at least Joe Harris hasn't been injury prone over the last couple seasons.

Kyrie and KD signed a year longer than Kawhi. We will still have Jordan's contract at that point. There's no realistic possibility that we will be able to sign Kawhi

WOW Westbrook in Houston with Harden, that will be very interesting. The Dynamic Duos running the league again... these next few years will be historic and will be some of thee best basketball we've ever seen I believe, so much parity and competition now, can't wait !

A healthy Nets team in my opinion with Durant in the lineup will definitely not be an easy out for any opponent in the league with one top two talent in the league coupled with a top eight talent. The superstar acquisitions are just bonuses, what I really like about us is the depth chart. We have a three point shooter in Harris, Dinwiddie is a very solid player and continues to evolve his game, Levert is really young and hopefully he can bounce back and improve as well. Allen is only 21 with plenty of youth hood left to grow. Even if things don't work out with Irving and Durant, which I believe is unlikely, assets can always be acquired and prospects can be found..... Marks is not King, in fact, Marks' Spurs culture has helped reshape the franchise for the better and finding a talent you can help produce and mold into a better player is extremely valuable in this league.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
