Thunder Seeking Multiple Young Assets From Heat For Russell Westbrook

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jul 11, 2019 5:14 pm

The Oklahoma City Thunder are seeking multiple young assets in exchange for Russell Westbrook, which the Miami Heat have refused at least to this point, a source tells Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

The Thunder have asked for Tyler Herro to be included. Herro was Miami's first round draft pick.

Oklahoma City asked the Heat to include two of Herro, Bam Adebayo and Justise Winslow during another point in the discussions this week. Miami is opposed to included Adebayo.

The Heat value Winslow but they could include him in a deal for Westbrook since his role would be diminished as a ballhandler.

Miami is willing to give the Thunder contracts that add up to slightly more that Westbrook’s $38.5 million salary next season.

Westbrook is due $172 million over the next four seasons. The Heat are unsure if any other teams are seriously pursuing Westbrook.

This should be a deal breaker for the Heat, let’s see exactly how desperate they are to take in RWB and one of the leagues worst contracts.

Small market teams should make a push at Westbrook. Guy could fill out a crowd, as far as winning a playoff series.. good luck with that. He’s really found better ways of becoming more inefficient since Durant’s departure. Pat Riley better not make this trade. Just the thought of Westbrook coming in and pissing off the culture, hogging the ball, helping jimmy butler’s numbers diminish a little more. Wherever he goes will be a toxic environment. I’m not sure he would even get a chance to play if he played for Popovich.

This is what im talking about POP and Presti giving away assets and crowning NBA champions. Pop just gives one up to Canada. And now this idiot presti is trying to hand one over to the kids next door in LA! Why didnt he get Lou Williams from the clippers!?!? The Clips were HIGHLY motivated to handover assets! Now this idiot is trying to get assets for that gawdawful westbrook contract?? It was easier gettin more for PG than it is for Wbrook. These 2 idiots need to be stopped before they work together to try to build another dynasty in miami.

The Heat should offer James Johnson, Dragic, and Winslow for Westbrook and Patterson. And not a thing more.

WHY the hell would OKC want Lou? And of course he’s trying to get something for Westbrook, why wouldn’t he.

Paul George's numbers really suffered this year playing with Westbrook.

Because he could be easily gotten! His contract is cheap. He can score buckets. A player like that with westbrooks contract is pullin a tractor uphill.

People saying that Westbrook should be avoided because he is a bad teammate are ridiculous. I've never heard one player have one bad thing to say about him. Durant and George had their best years playing with him.

Reasons to stay away include the contract, but Miami has more than enough bad contracts to send. Westbrooks efficiency has been dropping. However, he's incredibly productive and could help the right team become a contender.

Why would Presti want Lou scoring buckets for OKC? He’s obviously starting a tank job, Lou could win him a few games and that’s not what a tank commander needs.

He aint tanking though, hes in a rebuild. He has enuff 1st rounders. He needs solid vets to start rebuilding. Lou Will was that guy. But again, he wants to give away free treats.

We'll see if Riley learned anything from when he tried to get Butler from MN...

If they wanted assets for Westbrook, then they shouldn't have inked him to a $40mil+ / year deal

OKC would be foolish to trade Westbrook before January, when players who signed new contracts would be eligible to get traded. More suitors will pop-up then.

What OK will not get for Westbrook is what they got for Geroge. George is easier to fit in any roster than Westbrook, everybody knows that he plays more for the W than Westbrook. Westbrook gives all he has, but it looks like it's for 50% the W, and 50% the individual stats, and the comment from Billups on how Carmelo was feeling the game seems to match perfectly how Westbrook was playing (maybe he will change, and he has the potential for).

Every GM has a doubt on this, and his contract is bigger than George's contract.
They won't get the same thing for sure, or they have find the perfect fool.
