This is a terrible trade for OKC. Now they have to somehow acquire a time machine to use the 2016 draft pick.

It’s hard to imagine the Heat not agreeing to send Winslow and salary dumps along with some type of draft compensation for Westbrook.

I don’t see OKC buying out the remainder of Paul’s contract just so he can sign with LAL.

Not the best for all parties involved IMO.

I really hope CP isn’t bought out. It’s time to stop giving these divas what they want all the time. CP forced his way out of NOLA and then did same crap with the clippers. Make him play for the massive contract and put a competitive product on the court OKC.

I don't think they can co-exist. There's no way they'll maximize on each, they'll take away.

I think it’s the lack of draft assets that did them in. Obviously OKC is hoarding them.

I don't think Paul and Harden maximized each other very well either, but at least Paul is an efficient, in control floor general and scorer and shooter. Westbrook is definitely good at what he does, but he's the polar opposite of Paul.

CP3 is going to agree to a massive buyout and OKC will likely stretch and waive him to avoid the luxury tax going forward as they rebuild or gulp plan a relocation back to good old Seattle. Brooklyn did the same thing with CP3's 2005 draft protege Deron Williams when he too had a massive contract with max money left for two seasons.

Now what do you do with Chris Paul? Trade him to another team with picks? He'll never want to play in okc :banghead:

Surprising trade. I think they can play together, but can they win given a second chance? They played together before with Kevin Durant and couldn't win it all.

Can’t wait to see Harden and Westbrook go for a combined 17-68 FG’s a game. We must not forget about Harden’s 25-30 FT’s a game. If Harden and Paul could’ve worked out their differences!!

Great trade for OKC. Beats if offer that Miami had on the table by a mile. Now they need to see if they can turn Paul into sone expiring contracts and pick up a few more picks in the process. Or trade him if another team wants to take a gamble on him is a PG goes down mid year. The return won’t be high, but every little bit helps. Otherwise, let him play.

Ridiculous trade for OKC IMO. They essentially got nothing for him. Bunch of picks that won't be good and an enormous contract for old ass Chris Paul.

Nope. You don’t include any assets with him. If you can find a deal fir him, fine. But not one draft choice. Not even a second round pick. If he’s unhappy, it’s not the team’s problem. You might buy him out, but only if he’ll take a very, very big discount.

What makes you think the picks won’t be good? Houston is half a season away from imploding. Season and a half tops. This entire concept reeks of desperation. Maybe they can resign Melo. That’s the only thing that would ,age it even more volatile and foolish. I predict Hardin will be gone within two years. Maybe sooner.

LMAO at CP3. Quit on the Clippers and demanded a trade out of town because he didn't like our "culture" and claimed we "weren't trying to compete." Now we've rebuilt without him in a couple years and he's been salary-dumped onto a rebuilding team.
