if they can get out of most of paul's contract it's worth a pick or two. it would be a coup.

For what though? If they're just going to ship those Houston picks to Miami what was even the point? Doing right by Russ and his agent I guess.

I'd throw in Denver's pick for Herro and use leverage of us owning their 21 pick.

We will most likely take their trash expiring contracts.

I have never seen a team and GM pivot this quickly and drastically in an off season.

As it stands getting rid of all of that money for a couple picks isn’t bad but now that we’re tanking I don’t want to part with any picks.

If Presti can get Herro and Miami’s garbage for Paul and Denver’s first he should jump all over that.

Not sure what to make of this

We're not tanking?

Doesn't really make sense at all. Noel is part of the core? Those 8 picks are nice but they aren't going to be anything reliable for at least the short term. Chris Paul doesn't really have that kind of shelf life

I think Houston won the trade right now but if you guys can somehow move CP3 (even at the cost of some of those recently acquired assets), I think Thunder are a clear winner.

it's b.s. whatever source amick heard this from isn't telling the truth. they aren't looking to field a good team. if they were they would not have traded grant.

Pretty much. CP3 on the Thunder makes no sense at all. I would have no issues moving one of your million picks just to move on from CP3 and then do a proper rebuild. CP3 and his old man sulking/complaining will just be bad for the young guys going forward.

Disclaimer: I’m talking about fans on the outside, not people here.

It’s like people never learn. First they thought Westbrook couldn’t possibly bring back first round picks and Presti might even consider giving away picks (lol for real, how moronic). Now talk about giving away picks just to get rid of CP3. I’m looking at you, r/heat. When he’s moved, it will be no worse than a straight salary dump. We’re not giving away picks to clear space so that we can take on bad contracts and replace those picks we just gave up. Just use common sense.

Last time I checked, Waiters and Johnson has a combined salary of $27m. That's about $11m short of CP3's $38.5m salary isn't it?

They would probably need to add Winslow. I would throw in a first for that.

Dragic or Winslow would get them there.

100%. Winslow is still young, is skilled and he's on a reasonable deal for the next few seasons. I feel like it would need to be a good 1st for Winslow though.

The general board is a joke.

That was a quick 180 by Sam Amick.

He's still wording it kind of weirdly. "If CP wants to go to Miami..." I don't think it much matters what Chris Paul wants, Westbrook was our superstar and we were trying to get that deal done for him. Chris can get shipped to Detroit or New York and he will like it.
