CP3/John Wall Swap

Post#1 » by illuminati666 » Fri Jul 12, 2019 5:41 pm

How do Thunder and Wizards fans feel about a John Wall and CP3 swap? Wizards would probably have to throw in a 1st or like Hachimura. I think it makes perfect sense for both teams.

The Wizards immediately put themselves in the playoffs and with a few more pieces could make some noise and not waste Beal's prime. Thunder get back assets, and then if John Wall shows he can play in a couple years, flip him again. I don't think Miami will want to give up any major assets for Paul, so they might not present a better deal.

Won't happen. CP3 isn't going to tell Presti to trade him to a trash team.

Next years draft class is point guard heavy. No need to trade for CP0 when you can tank the year and then get a wall replacement next year. Wonder what they do with Beal though. After all the assets being acquired for stars right now, they should sell high on beal and start over.

The options are pretty limited though as far as a CP trade. He's not going to be able to handpick a team and magically make the deal work under the cap.

Westbrook got to pick where he went because he was our superstar. Chris Paul will have no such accommodations if he were to be traded.

Only team I'd trade Beal to is the Pelicans. Their draft stash is more immediate, whereas there's too many unknowns with the picks OKC got.

Paul is the absolute worst guy to have on a rebuilding team and the Wizards already loaded up on a tanking roster for the 2020 season.

Just sit on Wall's insurance payments through next season and assess thereafter. There's no hurry.

The Thunder could go full tank and sit Wall out all season.

The Wizards would have a legitimate PG to pair with Beal in the backcourt trouble is the roster has nothing else on it...and cp3 deal is shorter.

I think any young prospects involved in this trade are going to be going with CP3, not coming back for him. Nobody wants that contract. The Rockets had to attach two picks to him to take back an equally bad contract.

**** him. If he doesn't like making $40 million to play basketball with an All-Star back court mate he can renegotiate his contract to the minimum. Which he won't. He's the player association president so there's no chance he pulls a Luol Deng and agrees to alter the deal to make it possible to buy him out without destroying OKCs cap for 6 years.

John Wall contract is the worst in the NBA, not even close with his terrible injury. It's basically the only trade where we could find some positive value, but won't happen. We will end up trading CP3 and a small asset to the heat for garbage.

Wall's $41M contract in an albatross. No one will want that specially no one knows when he's gonna be back.

Thunder are busy corner in the draft for the next decade. Every transaction they do is going to involve draft picks or top kids. Get some draft picks for taking on CP3. Get a few more for dumping him to the right team. If anybody really wants him and is willing to pay that price, he's probably theres.

Wiggins make more sense.

Wiggins as tank commander. Cp3 plays 2man with KAT.
