First of all he's not giving up his 120M he has left, so whichever team takes him, is ready to give him 40M/yr. There won't be many suitors bc of this as that price tag eliminates the Lakers and many other teams.

The main suitor is obviously Miami, they can make a trade work and Riley wants a contender. How he feels about CP3's contract will determine whether he goes there.

If Miami doesn't work out, then it gets interesting. Then the dark horse suitors come up like Philly, Detroit, Milwaukee, Pacers, Wizards, Timberwolves, Mavs, Magic, Suns. All of these though are unlikely but possible, some more than others.

Philadelphia gets: Chris Paul and three first-round picks

OKC gets: Ben Simmons

It's a trade that makes sense for both teams. Philadelphia has a lot of size but not a guy who can make midrange shots and be a factor in the halfcourt. Paul with Philadelphia's oversized team makes the 76ers the best team in the East.

OKC gets a young player in Simmons would be a cornerstone player -- a 6-foot-10 point guard who can play multiple positions. The Thunder now have a young player who can keep fan interest; place shooters around Simmons in today's NBA and it's an up-and-coming team in a few years.

Terrible trade for philly- cp3 is declining and Simmons is still so young

yup,,,and only a contender would want cp3. there's no point in absorbing all that if there's no immediate future. did cp3 and blake get along???

CP3 would only want to go to a contender, I think a team like the Wizards might want him if they want to make the playoffs and have a couple good seasons with Beal, but that is unlikely. I rmbr reports about them not getting along so Detroit is also unlikely. There aren't very many suitors tbh, so its not gonna take a lot to get him.

CP3 to Philadelphia

Ben Simmons is also a terrible fit for Joel Embiid -- one player's strengths is literally the other player's weakness. Simmons' lack of any kind of shot packs in the lane in a halfcourt setting and makes him a liability in the closing minutes. Simmons needs to be in an open-floor, transition game to be most effective, which pretty much neutralizes Embiid.

Simmons' limitations are the reason Jimmy Butler was the 76ers' closer and focal point during the final part of the season and now Butler is gone. Unless Simmons has become someone who can shoot outside of five feet and can hit at least 75 percent of his free throws, he is a liability on the floor with Embiid at the end of games.

A Chris Paul with some juice and three first-round picks would give Philadelphia offensive balance, a chance to compete now and future picks to trade/draft for Paul's replacement.

Washington or stay and win a ship with OKC, why is Washington not an option?

Cool story but it isn't happening.

I low-key was hoping the Pels would send Lonzo + a pick to Philly for Simmons right after the trade. I thought that would have been an outstanding trade for both sides.

I don't like CP3 on the Sixers. I don't know why, but I can see he and Embiid having serious personality clashes.

John Wall for CP3 would be somewhat intriguing, but also feels wasteful.

It's likely Miami.

The pipe dream is a buyout so he can head to wherever he pleases (i.e. Lakers).

If he doesn't stay with OKC it'll either be the Lakers of a playoff team in the East.

Orlando should be all over this, they could be a 50 win team with him.

Huh? I must have missed. Clippers did better after he left? Rockets did better after he left? When?

So Miami wouldn’t trade those guys for Russ but will for Paul? Yeah right.

If he gets traded before the start of the season, it's probably Miami.

During the season, I'd say the Lakers.
