Mavs and Nuggets tired of sitting still (Cha/OKC)
Mavs trade- THJr, Lee, lotto protected 1st
Mavs gets- Gallo, Barton
Mavs do this to help balance out their roster and give them 2 very solid wings. We all know Lee is helping them out.
Thunder trade- Gallo
Thunder get- Plumlee, Lee, Mavs lotto protected 1st
Thunder do what they do best...accumulate picks
Nuggets trade- Barton, Plumlee
Nuggets get- MKG, Zeller
Nuggets have a gluttony of SG’s. This allows them to swap out for a very athletic and defensive minded SF in MKG. Zeller swaps with Plumlee and gives them multiple looks. Gives them some more long term cap flexibility.
Hornets trade- MKG, Zeller
Hornets get- THJr
Hornets save money this year and overall, while adding a position of need since Lamb is gone and we need scoring in the worst way possible. Most importantly, it should light a fire under Monk’s a$$ and will show us if he has the determination to get better or if he’s not worth being a building block in our rebuild

Re: Mavs and Nuggets tired of sitting still (Cha/OKC)
Mavs can trade a 1st like....2027 or something? Dont think they will trade it. Also signed a few guys to 3years, getting rid of Lees and THJs contracts to add 4 years of barton doesnt sound right, specially paying a 1st for it. I mean, THJ had 17p last year, his issue is that he makes too much money but he is younger then Barton and only got 2 years. Not that I've seen much nuggets last season, but 11p doesnt really rock the boat. Just my opinion tho. Think Mavs will find something at trade deadline from some that want to free capspace to dump Lee on

If the Hornets are willing to take THjr just cut out the rest of the teams.

I figured Mavs would prefer Gallo/Barton over MKG/Zeller

I think you could probably get away THjr/Lee for Batum and the Cavs 2nd or THjr/Lee, minor prospect for MKG/M. Williams.BuzzCity wrote:jbk1234 wrote:If the Hornets are willing to take THjr just cut out the rest of the teams.

Barton's on a two-year deal and did not have a good season last year.

This is essentially a Barton dump for us. MKG could boost our D but his lack of shot could hurt our spacing. Id do it but doubt it moves the needle that much.

Denver seems more likely to give up a first for Gallo than Dallas. Dallas’ next first is like 2024 and giving that up for an expiring Gallo is premature and unnecessary..
Denver likely prefers cheaper and familiar Plumlee, even though I like Zeller a lot more.
Charlotte likely wants some incentive to turn Zeller into THJ next year.
I think everyone but OKC walks away from OP.

because we're adding 2020 salary and downgrading talent and adding an inefficient volume scorer at a position where we already have young scorers that need minutes and touches. Rozier is already a horrifically overpaid tank commander, we do not need a second one.

Dallas is already going to regret the last trade they made to get Porzingis. Don't need another guy that will be out 30+ games a season.

Re: Mavs and Nuggets tired of sitting still (Cha/OKC)
The Mavs won't even do it with Porter and Bol Bol as incentive. Gallo adds nothing to this team. While the Mavs might want to unload Hardaway. But even if tons of cap space, no key FA wants to come. So dumping contract for pure cap space is simply no for the Mavs.

Not sure anyone is going to get excited about the OP. Not sure anyone is going to even like it. Not sure anyone would be angry if it happened - even if they don't like it. But that means it seems very unlikely it stands a chance of happening.
