If Frank's FIBA is as up and down as Johannes's Eurobasket half the board will be in melt down and taj will be posting "Frank is gone"/"Frank must go" every two hours for two weeks.

& If you want to see how agressive she was at Eurobasket go to the box-scores - you can count the free-throws she had in 6 games (starter, playing >75% of the minutes) on one hand.

As for physical things .. eh, I know that was supposed to be a funny - so, ok, laboured though it was I'll  .

I truly hope the Liberty got the French Curry and not the American Ntilikina. Might be wise to save receipts.
Those last 70 seconds, Randle in a nut shell.

Awful 2 for 1 3PT attempt when we are up 2
Doesn’t close out on Sabonis --> open 3
Takes another side step off balance 3

We got sucked into the Randle vortex where all good feelings go to die.

marine is definitely a swingwoman. got some handle and playmaking ability, but you don't want her running the offense in that traditional PG way.

both are nice looking ladies, but i'll keep this about basketball. they have such an uphill battle with respect due to so many (not saying you) guys only being interested in women's sport for what the players do or don't look like. i try to avoid that.

i like it. she's rangy and skilled. a little reckless at time, but a very entertaining player.

my biggest knock on the WNBA is the entertainment value. i was a lot more interested in the first seasons when it was new and had a flood of national team star names who made the league interesting as a first-time spectacle. i'd be lying if i said i really enjoyed watching the purely fundamental game it is. the women have great skills and play on a regulation court with 10-foot rims. you're not going to see the athleticism fans enjoy from the NBA. so it's a hard sell.

i say that to say if the WNBA was a little more free and had women flying around dunking, more people would be watching. there will always be sexists who don't want to watch women pros no matter what. but maybe more curry-like action would make americans watch more.

this is why the women have historically played and gotten paid the rest of the year in europe, where the sport is FAR more valued.

Lower the rim?

it's crossed my mind, but that would affect the shooting. women train to shoot on 10-foot rims. and i think that's the right rim height for basketball. both sexes play on that height from young. a lowered rim would be kind of insulting.

Lowering the rim is insulting but a smaller ball isnt?

good question/point.

i think the size of the ball impacts a very different element of the game than the height of the rim. as mentioned before, despite ball size, we're all trained to shoot/score on a 10-foot goal. also, the smaller ball isn't really noticeable to the fans. it looks right in their hands.

if we cranked the rims down just for the sake of having women who could dunk, it diminishes all of the other things about their play that are indeed excellent and comparable. skill elements.

my thought is that maybe the WNBA would have more appeal if it had more of the skill entertainment. more showmanship? i don't know. but to reduce it to just a woman dunkfest at the expense of the rest of it... not thinking that's the play.

i can't help but wonder what of these conversations have been had seriously in the league offices.
