Suns needed to make a move to get back to their 2 Kansas player minimum.

A team option is even better, more versatility. Cool to get a two-year deal with a team option.

Great signing.

High character guy, hard worker and most importantly CRUSHED the Suns last season.

Overall he averaged 6.0ppg and 5.2reb, but in 4 games vs the Suns he put up 11.0pt and 10.5reb in only 22min a game.

This will be his 4th season...and he's younger than Cam Johnson ;)

I think anyone wanting Faried as that energetic bench rebound guy will be happy with him.

For some reason I've followed this guy a lot (even tweeted last week we should get him), I think cos he's won me some nice coin in DFS as a stream guy :D

Great story too:

Stoked with the signing, obviously.

I like the signing. Always brings the energy and intensity, but definitely needs polish. Good chance nothing significant comes of it, and it would have been nice to get Christian Wood instead, but not a bad player to kick the tires on and see if we can develop a bit.

pretty consistent performer given playing time. 15/13 per 36 each season

I think that Diallo can be our third big in the rotation by the end of the season if he improves a bit his shooting and his awareness of the game.

I mean he definitely looked better than Diallo at the end of the season with the Pelicans lol

It not just about the numbers... it is about having a good attitude and playing hard every day.

Christian Wood is more skilled than Diallo, but he plays ball only when he wants. You can not sign a guy like that when you are trying to build a new culture based on effort, smart players and accountability.

Yup...
Keep in mind biggest impact guys like Diallo will and Harper will have is in the locker room and in team practices/ scrimmages.

Glad the Suns took a chance on him, he still has a ways to go but he's young and a hard worker. I'm a bit surprised it took this long for someone to sign him, it's a low risk bet and he's got some upside as a high energy guy, especially if he keeps getting better on the defensive end.

I also think as a 3rd string big man, I'd rather a guy who's a little less skilled but plays with 100% effort every minutes he's on the court. If we're looking for a 2nd stringer, I might look at Wood.

I was lobbying for him during the turmoil of the draft and free-agency saying the Suns should try to steal him while the Pels aren't paying attention. I think that playing with AD has given him some usable skills and his confidence and personality make him an attractive player. Not to mention the fact that he is still a very young long athletic big to keep developing. A guy who can play both Pf and C seamlessly.

I think he was just waiting for the Suns to complete the deals they needed to first.
