I'm here for this.
Back in 2016, I've been hoping for Cho to trade for one of Denver's guards — Murray/Harris/Beasley. Murray ended up being the best in that trio obviously so maybe the asking price for Harris isn't steep.
My thinking is the front office values 2-way players like Rozier, Bacon, Miles and PJ. This deal turns a couple one-way players (Monk offense, MKG defense) into a single 2-way player (Harris). It targets him on a down year and before the whole league gets obsessed with 2-way rosters. For the Nuggets it gets them out of a long term contract where they have a surplus in the backcourt.
All 2-way lineup, small ball modern NBA model.
Terry Rozier
Gary Harris
Dwayne Bacon
Miles Bridges
PJ Washington
It's missing a superstar. The bet is Monk won't become one and his lack of 2-way potential limits his ceiling even further.
We would have 2 drafts to get that star scorer. Rozier + Harris fit a 3-year rebuild. They won't be playoff contenders but they should steady the development while the team collects assets.
