Perfect prospect for us to have. Low risk, super high reward potential.

Don’t rule out the importance of having a defensive freak to put on guys like Durant, Ingram, Giannis, Porzingis etc. If we get stops, I’m sure he can run the break well.

Great signing. Not every player can be all around great in their first couple of years. What if he blooms out and bulks up, even to half of the degree his brother did.

A well informed word from a reliable person who has followed Kostas’ development is that he is a major get for the Lakers, that it’s just a matter of time and hard work until he blows up.

All he needs to get on whatever Mexican supplements Giannis took, gain 40 lbs, and he would already be an end of bench NBA guy. If he actually improved his skills too, who knows the ceiling....

Mavs dropping Kostas is simply an indication that they’re bowing out on the Giannis 2021 race. They’re committed to Porzingis and Doncic, and they have assembled a nice young core no need to lock up space for a player that’s not as developed as others on their roster.
Ostensibly Kostas’ most meaningful contribution is being a gateway to indirectly recruit Giannis. In other words Kostas is the KCP to LeBron.

Think KCP being at the Lakers helped recruit Lebron? Are you a Skip Bayless burner?

We paid KCP nearly $18m for the 2017/18 season, each successive season that numbers has dropped. Without question they would have been able to sign other players at a more reasonable contract.

He’s 21 and super raw. If he improves like Caruso, this would be a great pick up.

Giannis is impressive as hell and all.... But how does he play anything other than PF when he shoots 25% from 3?

They've got him listed as a 1-4... I can just hear Lakers fans now, if we had him at 1,2, 0r 3...

But back to Kostas... He's raw, but just looking at the clips here, it's pretty clear him just adding 40lbs isn't going to turn him into any kind of Giannis...
But he could be a solid small ball 5 if he gained that much weight.

I would like to think that he could be the Ingram "replacement". Very low risk very high reward player. The way he plays, i could say that he is a PF primarily but could play SF as secondary position.

I may just be being pessimistic but I'm setting the bar at PJ III or Ebanks. You know, just to keep expectations low.

Or another Bruno, being 2 years away from being 2 years away.

Bad contracts.. so were Loul Deng and Timo Mozgov. Incompetency at it's very best.

Lebron wanted to come to LA. What does that have to do with the Lakers' incompetence.

I do not disagree the Deng and Mozgov signings were mind numbing, but you should recognize that was orchestrated by the prior regime. The new FO took steps to purge and nullify costly signings in order to clear up cap size for LeBron and another All Star caliber player. Did they miss out on some of their targets? Yes, but that's the risk you take when sitting on the high rollers table.

Nevertheless, the Kostas signing is relatively harmless. It does not take away from their 15 man roster and it will allow us to make ground w/ Giannis.

I wanted Seth Curry back in the day - so I’m very happy we got Kostas.

He could be our Marc Gasol.

Then trade him for his older brother

LeBron won’t play garbage minutes anyway so that’s a moot point as far as on-court fit goes. He’s still developing. Obviously it’s a great signal for future recruitment aspirations of Giannis.

He is included in the 18 man preliminary roster for Greece for the World Cup. I think it's a given he makes it since Giannis is playing this year and they want to make sure he keeps playing for the NT in the following years.

So he's gonna get some exposure about 3 weeks from now.

I hope he shows something... He could have a pretty significant role on this team since we're pretty light on backup bigs.

He can be taught to shoot as long as he does not have some funky shot from left to right like Ball did.

Kostas has been cut from the Greek National Team. That says a lot about his current level of play.
