He can play center. At 6'11. Shooter. It diversifies the lineup. All centers must get out on the perimeter to guard him...tight....which opens up the lanes for AD and Bron. He also has.playing experience with AD, they are familar with each other. Know each.others game. Also, keep AD happy with a familiar, keeps him around past 1 year

He cannot play center. Poor rebounding/boxing out, non-existent defense. He big but don't play like a big

We already have a younger, cheaper Mirotić in Kuz.

Looks Like Cook in. Need 5 more. 1 PG(rondo), 1 Center(cousins), 1 Small Forward (iguodola) , and korver/morris ( lebron guys).

As I said. We have our own version of Mirotić in Kuz. Cheaper, younger. We don't need a third PF alongside Kuz and AD.

2-KCP, Green, Daniels
3-Lebron, ??, Dudley
4-AD, Kuzma, (Lebron)
C ??, McGee, (AD)

3m avail + MLE
Add Boogie and Point Guard for those, and add either Iggy or Korver for min if bought out?

For:
1-Avery?, Cook, Caruso

3-Lebron, Iggy?, Dudley
4-AD, Kuzma, (Lebron)
C Cousins?, McGee, (AD)

*and some rookies maybe for South Bay (and JWilliams- 2way), Horton-Tucker, Norvell, Cacok, Perkins, Howard, etc

Unless Lakers bring in a player to relieve another team's tax woes (Cavs, Miami, OKC, Wiz need luxury tax relief).

Based on stats and what they bring, this is the best possible lineup IMO, which is quite close to the likely lineup except that Green and Thabo replace Rondo and KCP (which seem like they're coming to Lakers while Green probably goes back to Raps and Thabo retires):

PG: Caruso | Lance | Daniels
SG: Green | Iguodala | Talen
SF: LeBron | Korver | Thabo
PF: Davis | Kuzma | Dudley
C : Cousins | J Williams | Chandler

Surprisingly, Lakers got the best possible starting lineup after the Kawhi news.

As for the bench mob:
Still waiting on Iggy and Korver but Rondo was chosen over Lance (I preferred Lance, especially for his game-changing ability).
KCP was chosen over Thabo for more youth and energy, sam can be said for choosing McGee over Chandler.

I'm just really excited that we get to always have either combination or one of:

Caruso, Caldwell-Pope, Green, Bradley in the perimeter

and

Davis, McGee, Cousins up front

Looking over the numbers shows me that Rondo is possibly the worst player for this team. Cousins, Kuzma, LeBron all had horrible numbers with Rondo.

I thought I'd put together a basic rotation that doesn't require Rondo.

6 minute rotations, same both halves.
Caruso, Green, LeBron, AD, Cousins
Caruso, Bradley, KCP/Green, Kuzma, Cousins
Bradley, KCP, Lebron, AD, McGee
Cook, Green, LeBron, Kuzma, AD

I'm starting to see two trios:

KCP, LeBron, AD
LeBron played very well with KCP and AD played well with Ian Clark which is a poor man's KCP.

Caruso, Bradley, Cousins.
Poor version of the Nuggets trio. From pelicans days it's obvious that cousins doesn't play well with floor general PGs and prefers combo guards.

Green, Kuzma and Dudley could fit into either trio perfectly. Iggy would fit either perfectly too.

Then you have Cook, Daniels, McGee as players to sub in for need.

KCP on the roster surprises me, LeBron was ready to trade him for Ariza within a couple of weeks last season.

He played well towards the end.
Chandler, Hart, KCP and Kuzma all played well with LeBron. Lakers kept 2 of them, let Chandler go because of age I assume.

KCP was a really bad fit with Rondo and Lance but he unfortunately played a lot of minutes with them. He's a perimeter shooter and works well when more 3s are being set up. Big guys kicking it out to the 3 is ideal for him and so playing off LeBron, AD, Cousins will work for him.

Yeh but as I stated else where. KCP only plays good for like half a season, If and only if he can come out strong, is when i'll put him in, maybe with the way the team is now and ready too compete, he'll be ready?

Assuming that LBJ will play the point, which I’m all in favor of, and given the addition of Kostas as a two-way, my updated rotations and minutes:

PG: James 20 / Caruso 18 / Bradley 6 / Rondo / Norvell
SG: Green 24 / Bradley 10 / Pope 8 / Cook / Daniels
SF: Kuzma 24 / James 12 / Green 6 / THT / Caroline
PF: Davis 32 / Kuzma 10 / James 4 / Cacok / Dudley
C: McGee 22 / Cousins 20 / Davis 4 / Antetokounmpo / ** Pau

Edit: Personally, I’d like to give KCP’s minutes to Caruso.
PG: D Lo / Reaves / Vincent(IL) / JHS
SG: Christie / Dinwiddie / Lewis / Mays
SF: LBJ / Prince / Reddish / Windler
PF: Rui / Vando(IL) / LBJ
CTR: AD / Hayes / Wood

Modern era NBA titles:
LAL 11, CHI 6, SAS 5, BOS 5, GSW 4

I kind of see the Clippers as the team to beat next season in the playoffs. Assuming health this is probably close to the lineup rotation:

1st 6 minutes Q1+Q3: Beverley, Shamet, Kawhi, PG13, Zubac
2nd 6 minutes Q1+Q3: Beverley/Lou, Shamet/McGruder, Kawhi/Harkless, PG13, Harrell
1st 6 minutes Q2+Q4: Beverley, Lou, Kawhi, Green/PG13, Zubac
2nd 6 minutes Q2+Q4: Lou, Shamet, Kawhi, PG13, Harrell

42mpg: Kawhi, PG13
30mpg: Lou Will, Beverley, Shamet
24mpg: Harrell, Zubac
6mpg: McGruder, Harkless, Green

This is the Laker playoff lineup to combat that:

1st 6 minutes Q1+Q3: Cook, Green, LeBron, AD, Cousins
2nd 6 minutes Q1+Q3: Caruso, Bradley, LeBron/Green, Kuzma, AD
1st 6 minutes Q2+Q4: Caruso, KCP, LeBron, Kuzma, Cousins/AD
2nd 6 minutes Q2+Q4: Bradley, Green, LeBron, AD, Cousins

42mpg: LeBron, AD
30mpg: Green, Cousins
24mpg: Kuzma, Bradley, Caruso
12mpg: Cook, KCP

Looking at these lineups, which positions will it be won and lost?

I see the Clippers as the best defensive team in the NBA. DOC will use the 08 Celtic template. They will sacrifice scoring droughts, all in the name of locking down suffocating D. Look at the trend. Scoring was King with the warriors run. They had shooters everywhere. That cannot be sustained. They lost to a premier raps defense. They lost KD. Etc.. Defense will be the name of the game next year. Denver emphasizes defense. Utah. Clips as well. We will face them in the WCfinals.

Vogel and Hollins have led number 1 defenses and Kidd is possibly the best defensive PG ever.
Lakers have a chance for a top 5 defense themselves tbh.
