Draymond’s playoff on/off is better than that of any of his teammates over the years so even accounting for their quality he’s been fantastic. Gobert’s meanwhile is worse than any of his teammates, especially Favors who’s been +21 each of the last 2 years so again, he’s been extremely problematic in the postseason.

He was unplaybale in PO in 3 straight years against legit contender (HOU x2, GS). This year Jazz were 24points per 100 poss better with Favors on C than with Gobert against Rox in PO. #12? I wouldnt consider him in top20.

Hes been unplayable for 2 years straight in the postseason against the rockets and outplayed by capela both times, i dont even think hes a top 15 player.

Why do people say this when it's objectively not true?

Because some people objectively try to watch the games instead of favoring there own player. Fact of the matter he was awful against the rockets for 2 years straight, was a net negative in the postseason(s), outplayed by capela, has no semblence of an offensive game whatsoever, and i dont even care about this one but he isnt even an all star (not that it particularly matters) but this board overrates the guy pretty hard.

I agree with everything about this except the lol. I voted for Draymond for the reasons you gave, but it’s not like the Gobert pick is completely indefensible. Regular season Draymond was nothing to write home about last year. An argument can certainly be made that Gobert has been a more consistent defender with greater impact. Too much condescension on the internet.

Jazz won one game because Favors played in 4Q and Gobert were where his place against contenders in PO is (bench). They lost G5, because Snyder lost his balls and play Gobert again.

It's funny how you act from the side of truth and accuse me of just being a homer. Your stance can't be proved because it literally did not happen. Instead of making an argument you make ad hominem attacks and try to appeal to a higher authority. Which is ironic because anyone who says that Gobert was unplayable in the Rockets series immediately exposes themselves for succumbing to narratives instead of actually watching the games. "No semblance of an offensive game" just furthers my point.

You can go back and watch the games or simply look at the numbers. It's not true at all. He was not outplayed by Capela two straight years, especially this past season. He was not unplayable in either series.
