Voted KAT and even recognizing I'm biased, I don't think it's particularly close

Huh. Maybe I overrate Booker or underrate KAT. I personally found this fairly close.

You might be biased, but it doesn't mean you're wrong...

The only thing going in favour of your opinion is that trade value doesn't always follow on court value

Does booker have positive trade value?

KAT’s already made All-NBA the previous summer, and a few months ago, narrowly missed a second appearance. This kept him from getting the supermax, so his contract is identical to Booker’s.

Yes, he does. But not as much as KAT.

Yup. Let's not swing the pendulum too far the other way. If you question whether he's worth his salary is one thing. What's not in question is that he definitely has positive trade value. Phoenix wouldn't have to pay out picks or other positive players or take back horrible salary to move him, if they so chose.

This isn't close, it's Towns in a landslide. More efficient, more size, more impactful, more defensive upside. There's just no case for Booker.

He would still bring back a good haul. OKC would certainly offer picks for him.

Devin Booker v CJ McCollum or Zach Lavine trade value would be a more interesting debate.

Agree. I think id have it as:

CJ
Book
LaVine

But I could see an argument for Book at the top based on age. And I think LaVine could be pretty close to them depending on what he does this year, but a close third still to me.

Both players are the same age with the same contracts and good health. So for this case trade value and on-court value are strongly related, unless there's a reason to believe they'll have significantly different aging.

IMO, Towns is a 11-15 player league-wide right now. Which makes him already underpaid on a 25% max deal and if he improves even moderately from there he's an even bigger value. Booker is more like a 31-40 player league-wide. Which is worth a 25% max deal but not a bargain. Though with routine improvement given his age he's likely to become a bargain in later years of his deal.

I'd probably keep them in that order you have listed.

I'm decidedly not a Lavine fan, on my team that is. I've seen him win too many games for his opponent to be someone I chase after.

Yeah that is probably the order, but it's certainly not set in stone. Zach's significantly smaller contract gives him a boost. CJ has the superior impact stat advantage to date and Book is probably the most talented offensive player/youngest.

Is this a serious question?

Is Booker even considered positive value?
