Hmm, my first impulse was to think Above All......the criticism? I'm not sure I get what they are saying.

I felt that video lacked enough promotion of Vučević. It's nice watching Gordon dunk, but Vučević was the All-star.

Eh could always be worse (the Celtics went with "C Us Rise" last season). I've given up on my gripes about the Magic marketing team. They've been pretty underwhelming for awhile now and I just accept that they'll never land it perfectly. I wasn't a huge fan of "Pure Magic" at first, but it actually just started to garner some steam with me. Despite every fans' cry to just go back to the 90's logo and jerseys, we've maintained the status quo for the last 12 years. The in-game operations and entertainment has been stale and uninspired.

I think the better slogans usually incorporate a play on the team name and nails the culture they're trying to promote. "Above All" is a worthy culture to promote, but (and maybe I'm naive here) it doesn't really play into the team name. The better slogans around the league IMO include the Jazz's "Take Note", the Bucks' "Fear the Dear", the Raptors' "We the North", the Bulls' "See Red", the Grizzlies "Grit N' Grind." But "Magic Above All" is simply okay. Sure, they're promoting a culture of family. They might have been able to go an extra step and either relate it more to the team name or some aspect of the city. At least it's not "WE WILL" :noway:

This is another sign that the Magic are seem to be gearing up for a full on rebuild. Even the press release doesn't feature the most recent Orlando Magic logo; it's just "Magic Above All" in a different font with our secondary logo (the curved ball with stars following). The press release's language hints toward this as well with "This new brand campaign turns the page on the next chapter of Orlando Magic history." Besides the new City jerseys and court, I'll be disappointed if they run back the same logo, main court, and jerseys. It's long overdue.

A weak-ass dunk for Vuc and then all AG. Ridiculous the level of disrespect.

IIRC this was on the marketing survey the Magic sent out a while back, but it was not high on my list. I can't remember the others other than they were throwing around "Protect the Kingdom" which I liked but may have been axed by Disney.

They have majorly revamped the entertainment in-game. No more cheerleaders, they have a new drum team, and some other stuff coming this upcoming season.

not sure I'm into the demeanor - comes off as a bit too serious - like a call to duty or something heavy...maybe its the nationalistic and military references in combination with the "movie trailer' voice

what-ever...can't wait for this season to start

I agree. Had the same thought. I had to watch the video to get the context, and that's never a good sign for a slogan lol.

It sounds like it's trying to say the Magic are the most important thing. Like if someone said, "Family above all" i'd get it. You put your family above anything else, it's the most important thing to you. So are they expecting fans to say "Magic Above All" and put the Magic as their top priority above everything else in their lives? lol.

I know that's not what they mean, but that's how it came off to me on first glance.

I wasn't a fan of "Blue and White Ignite" either. I mean, it's catchy, but a bit corny. It was good for our first playoff run but yeah, something involving "Kingdom" would've been nice, and it's not like we couldn't use it since we have Disney as a sponsor.

Who's running the Magic marketing team? These guys are corny. I don't even really care about slogans to be honest. But it seems like year after year, they swing and miss.
