I'll be honest, I was starting to be concerned over the past week or two. Good to see everything got worked out.

I hope these coaches are all great and that the team takes off upwards right from the start. But I would be lying if I didn't say I also was ready with a "Houston, we have a problem" thread waiting in the wings. This may have been Bulls North at one time but it's quickly been overrun and become Houston North. So when do we get Capella or pull some almost retired rocket out of their hat?

Of all the moves Rosas has made, I believe Prigioni, Pascucci and Gupta are the only ones with Houston connections.

Thibs had most of his coaching staff come from Chicago, plus 4-5 players.

Some of these players have Houston offense and these coaching ties. I don't have a single thing against it. This is what new regimes do. They bring in people they know and who think can do the job. I think we'll see more to come. Kind of like how Rose trickled in later on. But I think it's worth noting only because of all the harping that was going on about the Bulls connections. I'm sure he could have maybe brought in some Celtic connections if it wasn't from so long ago. It was what it was, which is what every team does.

Most of these are already known, but here's the thread with the announcements

Did they not have an analytics guy with the team before?

Having read about the analytics development in baseball , a lot of the buy in from players came from having someone around all the time they could talk to. It wasn't just a faceless instruction telling them to shift or do something else , it was a guy explaining the reasoning to them .

They've had an analytics department, but it sounds like they'll actually be used by the coaches during games now.

Wasn't sure where to put this, but this thread felt like the most appropriate.

Mitch Creek's now playing for my local Basketball team and I had a chat to him at a fan event last week. He spoke pretty highly of Ryan, said he was the sort of coach who "would kick your ass at training, but that once the day was over you felt comfortable going out for a beer with him".

I've played sport semi-professionally here in Australia and LOVED coaches with that kind of attitude - Absolute monsters when training but your best mate when finished. Made for some great friendships.

Do we have any, umm, shooting specialists on staff now? I see a couple players that need help with the timing first, and maybe footwork, and probably confidence/head shrinking work among other things.
